Hi there,
I have recently become a Canadian Citizen through naturalization (my dad lived there).
My boyfriend and I live in Northern Ireland and if I go to Canada for a few years to work he would like to come with me and do the same.
How would this be possible and what would the best way for this be?
He is a skilled worker but we looked on the immigration website and doesnt have the skills the are looking for to get into Canada.

Is he between 18-30, if so then he can get a one-year Working Holiday Visa if he is British. |

What sort of skills does he have? If his skills are not on the "in-demand" list then he can still apply, but it may take a few years rather than just a few months.

If you have lived together for 12 months or more, you classify as a common law couple which means you can sponsor him for Canadian permanent residency, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/index.asp
If you haven't lived together that long, you could also marry him to be able to sponsor him. |
