1)I was a housing contractor and I lost work to a company that was hiring illegal immigrants.
2)That was a direct crime committed against me, since those workers were not here legally.
3)I've never had a friend who is an illegal immigrant. My two best friends, during childhood, were from Cuba and Equador.
But they were here legally. So stick your racist BS where the sun don't shine.
4) I do not hire illegal employees. Never did and never will.

You know, if everything was being done in Mexico, to aleveiate the poverty that exist there, I might be more inclined to want to grant amnesty for humanitarian reasons. But, since Mexico is not a poor country, the only thing that we do, when we accept the Mexican poor, is support the reasons for Mexican poverty, I find it highly immoral to help the Mexican government and elite to continue their immoral policies. The problem is in Mexico and not in the US. The Mexicans should be protesting in the streets of Mexico and not in the streets of the US. Maybe then, they would get my support. Until then, I realize that, the trend is toward the US workforce becoming as impoverished as Mexico's. And not the other way around.
It is completely immoral for me to support illegal immigration amnesty.(period)

I don't have a problem with immigrants. I think the US should be doing all it can to attract good talent to this country. I do have a problem with ILLEGAL immigrants. Why can't they just come to the US legally? I understand that there is a waiting list, so just wait your turn.

You seem to be asking why so many 'respectable' people complain about illegal immigrants, yet at the same time employ and befriend them. Thus implying hypocrisy.
It is OK to oppose a national policy, while still being polite to those individuals who gain from it. Eg I have two friends who work outside the private sector.
Illegal immigrants are taking a rational risk that you or I might take if we were in their place (which is, of course, extremely unlikely for you or me.)

Yes only to 3. I lived with a guy up in Alaska and didn't know he was illegal until we went to a bank to open an account and they rejected his SS card saying it wasn't real. Only then did I realize he was working illegally up there. He was still an upstanding person, very generous, and one of the best friends I made up there.
