depends on the person.....not what they believe |

Of course I can. I'm certainly guilty of my smart@ss comments on Y!A, but I respect an honest well supported argument. |

i could only if they respect mine and if there is no name calling involved... |

yes, I respect that people are going to have different opinions. And I am not always right. I don't believe in lowering myself to the level of name calling as that is ridiculous and just makes the name caller look bad. |

At the end of the day we have to respect that people do have different views and opinions. so as much as we would like for everyone to think like us and agree with us, its just not going to happen. we are all different in our thinking and we have all experienced life differently as well. one colour..many shades. lol |

Yes, it is possible. I actually adore someone who is supportive of illegal aliens. We just talk about other issues if that topic gets heated. Everyone has an idea or belief. I am not a Liberal, but a whole lot of people I like are tragically one. |

If they act in a fashion I consider worthy of respect.
That they have a different view isn't the issue, in any event. |

I have a lot of respect for people who have an honest difference of opinion from mine, and can articulate that opinion in a calm, reasoned manner, without anger or name calling.
I enjoy arguing politics with those with whom I disagree, so long as it is as I describe above. |

My personal saying for years has been "I will respect your opinions and beliefs, even if you're wrong."
Ironically though, that seemes to irritate people even more then the name calling. |

Yes. As long as they don't go down to the level of name calling. |

Throughout my entire life I have always treated everyone with respect and dignity. No matter what contemporary society names them.
For you see, I know this ancient secret.
We are all waiting to become ants or we are all waiting to become princes!
But please know this always. I will never, never freaking forever bow to anyone or anything. |

Yes as long as they can resist the name calling, foul language, racial tones, the bigotry tones, the inciting violence towards others, and any other remark that comes across as rather crude, and not humorous, or has no truth to it. Meaning some keep referring to illegals as only "toilet cleaners". |

If the person is being respectful, then yes they deserve respect in return. |

SURE I CAN, SO LONG AS THEY ARE STICKING TO THE FACTS. |

I do actually. They know who they are. We can agree to disagree. |

I respect views of other people, who have taken the time to build up backing. I cannot respect others views when they have no idea wtf they are talking about. (or simply make things up to try to prove a point).
If you can put up an argument for illegal immigration, although i will not support your view, i will respect you for that view. |

u can respect the person and their views but some......
respect the person and just not their view |

As long as they respect mines. |

Absolutely, as long as respect does not mean capitulation.
And I reserve the right to be irreverent! |

If their position is based upon reason. Too often what we see is name calling being substituted for reason. |

Only as long as those opinions are sane ones |

It takes MORE than having the same opinions and views as another to earn my respect! It's gonna take a bit more than that to go that far; don't you think?? |
