I am an "American" and I don't think either is better. They both have their good and bad points. Canada pretty much has all the same freedoms USA enjoys as far as I know? |

I'd say Canada has the benefit of being a younger country and plenty of wide open spaces that haven't been given over to pollution, like in the U.S.
These days, Canadians still enjoy a degree of freedom that Americans seem to be allowing to slip away.
So perhaps Canada is a more open, liberal, and progressive society. America seems to be stuck in a rut. |

Anyone who would say Canada is exactly the same is looking through rainbow coloured glasses with their own wishful thinking .
Many Americans I know speak about how cleaner our cities are and friendlier. I found that to be through while driving from Ontario to Florida.(never do that again..heck of a long drive)
People do have different attitudes towards things.Our few on war/military .Canada prefers to take a side as a peace keeper first .Secondly I was told that Canada has Segregated societies just like the USA.The girl gaved an example of little Italy ,Greek area or little portugal. that is not segregation!! As everyone is welcomed in those areas to spend money as in business.We don't have all white areas and all black neighbourhoods.And everything on the news in AMerica seems to be the race card .people don't vote on if the facts show your guilty but on what race they are on .By the way I think his name is vick ...he seems guilty to me (lol) but a few days ago they also had that Ian Johnsoon player in Canada how many of us even care if a mixed race couple walks by ...??
But thay I think is due to the difference in history .
We love Hockey as our national sport...hmmm I think for america its between baseball and the NFL.

As opposed to the Prime Minister of Canada, Americans elect a President who is in charge of the executive branch of the government. Canada has two official languages, French and English, as opposed to the U.S(probably spanish added in their ) . both countries are similar in the fact that in the past 200 years, waves of immigration from more or less every part of the world has made them both far more culturally diverse than they once were.

Both of these countries have English as their base language. Canada will accept fluent French but all other languages MUST learn English.
My question to you is:
What exceptional attributes/skills do you have to offer either country to host you? To be successful in these countries, you must be able to compete at the top level of your specialty field. Being poor, having a large family with you, being uneducated, diseased, or posess a criminal record means you have nothing to offer.
It's not about which one is better. It is about which country you can help improve.

That's a no brainer. America is the best country in the world and that's why people hate it. Nobody wants to move to Canada; everyone wants to migrate to the U.S. Most people that hate America are just haters and jealous whiners. Some fail to realize that America and it's government give individuals the opportunity to live wealthier and better lives if you put your mind and effort into it. This is achieved thanks to capitalism and the freedoms of our government. Unfortunately, you have some people that want everything handed to them for free and blame the government for all their problems. The U.S. may not be a perfect country, but there is no better country for now. The next election and other political drivers may someday change this great country, which is being run down by extremist and pompous nationalist of other countries and their corrupt values.
