How do we check whether a H1 B sponsor from USA is a genuine/legitimate one? Is there any US immigration site for this ?Also, If some one gets selected in the lottery in April, can they start working in Oct, who decides this ? Usually, when does companies require h1b candidate to join them for work ? (Oct of this year or Jan of next year?)

A legitimate sponsor asks you for no money. If they ask you for even $1.00, they are a fraud.
And the sponsor files the paperwork, not you. They file it on April 1. The lottery is a random draw held by US immigration. Then you start the next fall. That is, applicants on April 1, start work on October 1 or later of the same year. |
