I lost my citizen ship certificate. Do I need to have it in order to get a passports?

yes you do need it ,if this is your first passport? you will have to get a replacement from USCIS and it cost again.380 $

YES you need it as it is the ONLY proof you have that you are eligible to get a passport.

so you must get a new citizenship certificate BEFORE you can get a passport.
