Citizenship through marriage?

my husband and i recently married and I want to start petitioning him for a us citizenship. he came to the us when he was 2-3yrs old using his older brothers birth certificate... now since he came in unlawfully to the us, i have read that he would need to return to his country of birth...is this true? is there any other way around it to where we can file for it here in the us without him having to go back. he's theonly one working ryt now between both of us and it would be hard for us financially... please help!

there is definitely a way for him to get citizenship as i have known quite a few people who have gone through this, plus lawyers we've consulted have said this also. we have no problem going out of the country to process this but i just wanted to know if there's a way where we didnt have to leave. AND if you think its messed up i married an illegal, i just have to say that id take my illegal husband ANY DAY, than some snobby, LAZY, us citizens i have worked with and also dated. so why dont u just not say anything if u have nothing good to say. :D thanks!

No. If he is in the US illegally, he is breaking US law. Marriage does not entitle him to automatic US citizenship.
He needs to go back to his native country and apply from there.

Why can't you join him there?

sorry he has to go home an go thru the legal process like everyone else

You married and illegal immigrant? that's kinda messed up. There ain't no way he's going to get citizenship so you might as well go live in HIS native country. If you do indeed love him you won't have a problem with this.
