We should and frankly it makes me sick that these people have a sense of entitlement. They feel like we are inconveniencing them when we tell they have to leave or arrest them. They find it funny. I have never seen a group of people with such a piss poor attitude or disrespect for this country. Send them back to Mexico...maybe they can get the swine flu and decrease the surplus population! |

Tallahasse, Florida -- There are between 12 and 20 million illegal aliens in the United States. No one has a hard number on how many illegal's are in the country but the Florida Hospital Association says the cost to hospital is staggering and everyone is paying for it.
Illegal aliens come into this country every day. In fact, more than one million live in Florida.
The influx of illegals has a devastating affect on hospitals through out the state, including Tampa bay.
Carol Plato, who testified before a legislative committee, says the Florida Hospital Association estimates the cost is $100 million for illegal patient care.
And part of the reason the cost is so high, is because illegal aliens often use the emergency room as their primary care physician. Usually illegal's don't have insurance and very little money, which means they can pay the bill. However, that doesn't mean the bill isn't paid. Those who have insurance pick up the difference and that's a major reason things are so expensive when you're in the hospital.

Yes it would. The illegal aliens have come north and used our Hospitals all over our country to cope with very expensive processes. Do a search and ask for 'illegal aliens hospitals' and you will discover, for example, that in Florida they are paying a 100 million a year for the illegal aliens. It is crummy, and Congress won't control the immigration processes, (and they could), and won't pay for what they won't do. Wars are just so much more fun to fight, and business likes that a lot.

The catch is that you have to repeal HIPAA. HIPAA is the act that says an ER must treat all who show up and that they cannot ask about financial status or anything else not medically related until after they have stabilized and started treatment to the patient.
If hospitals had to screen forimmigration status, it would also shut out the American working poor from speedy treatment of emergency conditions.
The clerks at ERs are not qualified to be immigration cops and would reject any attempt to make them be immigration cops. |

I understand where you are coming from but Doctors and Nurses take an oath to Do No Harm, and turning one's back on someone in need of medical care is not an option.
When they start filling the clinics pregnant and trailing numerous kids, then we should review their records and if not legal, back home! Of course this would seem to be picking on Mexican* illegals, and I am all for sending all illegals home.
(It is just the Mexicans* have a propensity for birthing numerious children and our system and taxes pay for their care.) |

Can't. Its required by law for hospitals to admit people, even if it is to have illegal babies. You never know if there is an underlying problem with the person being admitted that requires medical treatment.
I say this and yet I am truly not for the illegals in this country. |
