Those who steal an identity and use someone else's social security number do pay taxes - they use the SSN to get a job, but then they are subject to federal and state withholding. They are still breaking the law.
Those who work off the books don't pay any taxes, they send our money back to their homeland. |

It depends on how they are getting paid. If they are getting paid cash, then it is not reported to the government and they are not paying taxes. If they are being paid using a false SSN, they are paying taxes, but not likely to get any of the tax credits or refunds since filing a tax return would get them caught. |

They mostly pay sales taxes on what they purchase. A vehicle tax if they are able to buy a car, but that is about it. |

Most are working for cash and have a pocket full of $ 50 & $100 dollar bills. Now tell me if they are paying taxes? I don't believe that they are, and then on top of that they are getting government assistance with the food stamp and wic programs. I see this daily while working as a cashier in the food industry. They and the foreign nationals in our country are drawing the same, and in a lot of cases project the attitude that the Americans and our government owe them even more. Lets not forget the housing that they are allowed to PURCHASE at a reduced rate monthly, while our own folks are denied a purchase due to insufficient funding and unemployment Thank you- Disgruntled American Taxpayer. |

Of course they are going to pay sales tax, but if they are working off the books then they don't pay federal income taxes or social security. However, a great deal of them have bogus social security numbers so they are paying taxes but we spend more on entitlements for them than what they pay. Go to any emergency room in a border city and see how many illegals there are, and you know they won't be paying their bill. |

If they are the payroll of companies, they contribute to state and federal taxes, medicare, SSI, etc. They may be using false documents to do so, but they are paying taxes nonetheless. They also pay sales tax on all purchases they make.
The problem isn't whether or not they pay taxes, it's that they are allowed to be here at all. Illegal immigrants are essentially crowding in line in front of legal immigrants. That is wrong and should not be tolerated. Furthermore, America is a melting pot. We have immigration quotas to prevent any race from over-populating the country. |

Many illegals provide ficticious social security cards and identification to their employers. The employers can put them on their books as "legal" employees and give them a paycheck. The employers then deduct taxes from their pay check, the IRS would find out if they didn't.... So "YES" many illegal immigrants actaully pay taxes.
But there are also many illegals that simply work under the table and do not receive a check from their employer. They recieve their salary in cash, since cash is difficult to track they can get away without paying any taxes. |

most dont. one of my ex's is illegal and pays taxes out of his check. another ex is American and has never filed taxes and refused to pay child support on his 12 year old daughter. he now has an arrest warrant for him. you can do it just don't get caught. my friends hubby didn't pay taxes for 12 years .took them forever to pay it off. if you file taxes and owe child support the child support office will take it . |

Of the ones left most claim so many children that they end up paying little or no taxes.
Almost all states exempt food, clothing, and medicines. So they probably aren't paying sales tax either. Add in yard sales where no taxes are collected and..

And of course since we don't know how many there are here we have no idea how much they cost us in benefits.
They get welfare.
They get foodstamps.
They get medical.
They get schooling ($10,000+++ per kid per year)
They get housing.
They get all the other goodies that each and every one of us get too:
Police protection
Fire protection
Military protection
Court sytems
Roads
Water/sewer systems
Etc. Etc. |

Illegal immigrants do not pay any taxes - except sales tax. Unfortunately they are here trying to make a better life for their families, and it is hurting the rest of us. They work for cash only, and many people will hire them, because they will do the work cheaper than citizens. It makes life hard on the rest of us, and it isn't fair, but I guess like any of the rest of us, they are trying to take care of their families.
I know several "legal" immigrants and they do not like the illegals either. They feel the same as "natural citizens" do. It is not right, but until all people make sure they are hiring legal immigrants the problem will not go away, and illegals will continue to stay here "tax-free". |
