Immigrants in years past were by and large people that wanted to assimilate, become American, become prosperous, and contribute to society. Immigrants from the New Deal era to the present are people drawn by taxpayer funded entitlements. They have no desire to assimilate and become American. This is evidenced by the massive resistance to speaking English, the growth in spanish language media outlets and the very public display of south and central American flags. Recent immigrants have no desire to become Americans, they simply want to be citizens of their nation of origin with American benefits. The American taxpayer is funding social services, welfare, and health care entitlements. Immigrants are flooding our E.R.s, their non-English speaking children our flooding our schools and diverting resources and holding our children's classes back. We are spending huge amounts of Medicaid resources to pay to hospitalize their pregnant women and make their children automatic citizens. They are taking jobs from Americans and depressing wages for the jobs that remain. We must end the lure of entitlements and jobs. Visit www.numbersusa.com to make a difference.
