Im about to exit the army and i was wondering if i can still get my full advance but not go to my home of record?

I believe that the obligation is to pay you to your Home of Record. But there is no obligation for you to actually use it for that purpose. |

Yes. You process the paperwork to be paid to go to your HOR. Basically, the military will pay to get you back there. If you choose to move somewhere else that's further away, the remainder of the cost is on you. If you choose not to immediately go to your HOR, that's your choice as well.
Be aware, though, that at least while still active duty, they don't advance you the full amount. They advance you a percentage, then give you the rest after you submit all your receipts. I don't know if that's how final move paperwork goes, but you might want to find out before you initiate it. |
