I thought asylum meant refuge in a country, not freedom to visit Muslim anti western war zones.

International law states that a person has to prove they are being personally targetted in their home nation, which almost all asylum seekers cannot prove. Also they must find refuge in their first safe country they get to. So technically we should only really be accepting asylum seekers from Ireland and France, not africa and the middle east. They are simply asylum shopping for the best deal! We all know what is happening and it has to stop, i am tired of the way this country is being filled with a third world backward population. |

My opinion is - when asylum or refugee status is granted in our country; they should be returned to their homeland once it is deemed safe once again! Why can't we do this and why do we have to accept a possible mass murderer into our midst when this isn't his homeland!???

Binyam was granted permanent leave to stay,reside and work in UK,15 years ago.He is not a British citizen but a British resident.As a result his legal status is the same as any other UK resident.
It is not Binyam role to justify why he was in a particular country at a particulular time.No evidence against was forthcoming,and no charges levied and no trial.What exactly would the reason be for removing him from the UK.
The UK government needs to compensate him,for the lack of legal protection given to him,when he has shown to have done nothing wrong under our legal system.He has paid a very heavy price |
