I think what the people who run this board are trying to do is keep it from turning into yet another post and repost shout match. I can appreciate this, though sometimes it doesn't work to my, or in this case, your benefit.

I've been on a lot of boards that pretty much devolved into sh?t slings, and I'm kind of happy that this one remains somewhat innocent because of its design and implementation.

There are lots of places we can go where we can have it out with other posters, for better or worse. I go straight to the Yahoo news boards when I want a good shot of vitriol.
Here I hang out and hopefully just exercise a more civil kind of discourse.

Incidentally, I pretty much agree with what you said in the reported post. It seems to me most of the ranting about illegals is just another form of racism. And classism.

People get violations all the time,I once got one in the fine dinning section,because I said I didn't like a certain cheese. So some one reported me ..Its really gotten ridicules a lot of people that deserve a violation never seem to get one and no you have never insulted me.

read the above properly I can't find the so called racist statement in it and I am a Race Relations Officer, people should take their time and read things through! I agree that giving skilled or honest workers the right to earn a place in the society they have managed to get into is fair.

Does that mean 3 people reported you and that's what they said? I know for a fact yahoo doesn't read these reports before sending them on to you with a warning. I got reported with no reason given--just a semi-colon whatever the hell that means (2 eyes?). I think these people need to learn to either argue the point or respond with a thumbs down. Thumbs down means you don't like the q or a and that you disagree. Flagging should be saved for sick wackos and people who are totally incoherant, not for people you disagree with.

Amnesty is not the answer. We cannot reward 12 million illegal Mexican immigrants for breaking our laws. That doesn't mean a guest worker arrangement can't be put into effect.

the whole point is NOT race...the whole point is Mexico is the richest of the Central American countries yet it expects middle-class Americans to support their castoffs! Mexico pays 1.7 million dollars a year to lobby congress.
If you are as rich as you said in one posting, why aren't you trying to help your own people instead of sitting in front of your computer complaining about the actions of Americans - which is absolutely none of your concern!

why should people who broke the law be rewarded?
by giving amnesty we would be sending the wrong message to mexico.

by giving them citizenship a large percent of them would immediately go onto welfare thus destroying the point.

Illegal aliens should not be here because they are...well...illegal. If there is a problem with the laws, then the laws should be changed to accomodate the needs of the people. If people want to come here, they need to fill out the appropriate paperwork and wait in line...Otherwise, we should ship their sorry asses back to where they come from...
