On a similar note, would nationalizing illegal immigration laws help diminish the illegal immigrant problem? (DISCLAIMER: i am not anti-illegal immigrants. I would just like to gather others' opinions on this matter for a school project)

You don't reward criminals, that is just not productive period. They were given amnesty in the 80's and all that happened was more legal people on welfare draining tax payers. Also, even more illegals came over and caused havoc just waiting for another. |

These drugs are legal in the Netherlands. Look at what it is doing to their country.
As for border security, the Federal government has one responsibility-- to protect our borders. For Congress to actually agree on something would be a good thing. |

Answer to question 1:
NO! with over a MILLION heroin attics alone in the US, we just have too many drug users, and that makes us Columbia's and Mexico's number one market. That does not include attics to all the other drugs America consumes per year. We need to fix our problems first, and that's the drug users and distributors on our soil. But people are quick to blame Mexico.

NO!....there will always be jobs that Americans DO NOT want to do, even during this recession. If illegal immigrants know that they'll have a job waiting for them, they will come.
