Well, Mexicans are sneaking into the US anyway. If we invade Mexico, it will allow them to be in the United States because of the new land.

This may help them in the long run as far as stealing our jobs. But how will it help the United States? We are already in debt due to the war overseas. Why would we want to go further in debt by taking over Mexico? What would we get out of it besides more "mouths to feed"?

The problem is that Mexico is invading the USA, and we're ignoring it.

If they don't like their government, it's up to them to fix it. Why must everyone come running to the USA for help? Isn't any other country capable of sustaining itself? I am sick and tired of being the globe's whipping boy.

I'd love to help everyone, but 1 - we simply can't afford to, and 2 - no one appreciates our help anyway. When we turn back to them to ask for a favor, they spit in our faces.

I agree with the point that the U.S. doesn't have to go around invading every country at whim. I doubt they'd do it though, it's very questionable whether or not the U.S. would benefit financially because of it. Mexico has its tourism, but is that strong enough to make this move a lucrative one?

As for the Mexican gov't and its citizens, really, that country needs a REVOLUTION!!! The illegals here live very poorly, but that's much better than the shacks they come from in Mexico. The gov't there does nothing to help its poor, and the poor need to step up and out into the streets and protest and protest and protest until things change, and they can finally have a decent life there.

I agree that mexico needs to fix the government.That takes time.Also a firm decent president.Alot of people will not speak up because they are afraid of getting killed. This sounds like another US delusion, that people would love to be invaded.
It was not true of the Iraqis, Afghanis, Vietnamese and it would not be true of the Mexicans.
BTW, the statement that the government "cares less about the poor" aptly describes the US, which has no public health care, no maternity leave and an abysmal minimum wage.

I don't forsee any "invasion" but I do see a geo-political grouping of all of the countries of North America similar to the European Union, at which time many of the problems witht the current Mexican government will be addresed.

The US doesn't invade other countries just because they have a shitty government. Only if the government is threatening and poses an imminent threat against the US or its allies. Like Afghanistan, not Iraq, which was a huge mistake that George Bush will eventually be punished for.

You know, it is against the law to gather and protest in Mexico. and the government will use military force. So with that said, if all the illegal aliens of Mexican descent went home and protested in Mexico city, the government would either react peacefully and support them. Or, most likely they would retaliate with the military like Chinese and give us a reason to get involved into their politics.

I would love to see the Panama canal as our southern border.

It's a sad day the moment we Americans began thinking like that. Since the US government is such pals with Fox and soon to be President Calderon, they should put the squeeze on Mexico to clean up their own act. This revolution should have occurred years ago. Where's the new Pancho Villa? Obredor being such pals with Venezuela's Hugo Chavez and Cuba's Fidel, who won't fricking leave Planet Earth, would convert Mexico's citizens into refugees for sure!
