In towns, all across America, there are people that do not come close to being "xenophobic". They welcome immigrants - while rejecting illegals.
Just because someone believes in enforcement of laws doesn't make them "xenophobic". Those that believe and follow such are known as 'law abiding citizens'. |

It has become one thing...and that is the scape goat of every other countries needs and problems...we are always called in to help and then hated...this country is still the best...and if ya think it isn't...then go to one of the other countries that you have looked from the inside out and reside there....one thing I know...this world needs a enima! |

No xenophobe here.
You refer to yourself as an American, yet refer to the rest of the country as "they"? I know a snob when I see one. Is that too "scary" for you?
Can you elaborate, please, on what you believe your country has become? Details would be appreciated. |
|

Proud to be an AMERICAN

Next time, buy a one-way ticket, if you think it's that bad here.
PS I know that my answer is snide. But the question itself seemed elitist and dismissive. Maybe if there were details instead of a pat conclusion I would have had more to respond to. |

Its nice that you have traveled. we did not get this way by our own. There was a lot of help from the other countries talking crap about how they think we are fat and lazy. I to have traveled. we worked for what we have and where we are in this world. it was not given. as for the way we think i feel we should lock up our borders and let the rest of the world be we need to take care of our own for a change. no more foreign aid no nothing. |

Well, You are always "FREE" to leave, thats the nice thing about it. So go live somewhere you have found better in your travels. |

My way of life is not scary-I live a normal life in a small house with my husband. Nothing scary or weird.
I am er: There is a Cairo in Mississippi and I suggest you learn how to spell before saying you are somehow better than the rest of us. |

It is a lot worse in other countries. There is censorship everywhere. Try to find out what the status of rape or murder is in the Cayman Islands. That is in the British West Indies. They have censorship. They will not tell you what is going on. Yes there is even slums there. Seen them. I will stay here. At least I am allowed to shoot back in this country. Not just a lamb for slaughter like in the UK. |

I have been to foreign countries. I will take the US over any of them. The US is the greatest country on the planet. We have the best form of government. We also have about 12 million people here illegally. There are at least that many who don't agree with you.
There is nothing wrong with people in the US. It is your attitude that's your problem. |

Instead of sitting at home in front of your computer, if you are so disillusioned by what America has "become", why don't you make an effort to change what you see is wrong? It is easy to sit there and do nothing but gripe and moan, but it takes courage and conviction to try and solve the problems. |

I don't know why someones' thinking could possibly be a
problem...Thinking is individual process proving someone
is a thinking creature...It doesn't matter whether I'm American,
German or Russian or whatever...As for the way of life, don't
we choose that individually ?! OK, I mean there are things like
military service, rules of conduct, but basically we can say we
are free to think and free to live the way we choose, can't we ? |

---it;s not the american people that are so scary--it;s the idiots that get into office that have let thier greed and power go to thier heads that have almost destroyed this country-----and it;s up to us ---we the people to fight to get our country back---if you don;t like it --leave it---or stay and help fight to get our great country back----------------------------- |

Personally I think our way of life is just fine. To me it started to get scarey when we became too PC and started this "global" garbage of accepting everything and deminishing what it is to be American to appease all these other countries and "their culture" and way of life. As I see it.....there's a whole big wide world out there and if you don't like it here....there's the door. The only thing people want from us is money.....being American is more than that. I'd just as soon clean house and lock the doors and let the true Americans start over and get this country back. |
