Do I have to leave Australia after a Defacto Break up?

I've been in Australia for three years now. I met my partner after about 10months and decided to do fruit picking to qualify for a one year extention. At the end of the second year we applied for a Defacto Visa. I have now been on this for almost a year, but me and my Defacto have recently broken up.
I do not want to leave Australia, I have my whole life here, I run my own business and have lived here for 3years. What can I do? If I don't tell the DIAC I will be able to stay for 1 more year, but what then?
There is a possibility that my ex-girlfriend will pretend we are still together as we have separated on good terms, but I would prefer not to ask that of her. It's a really messy situation.
Please Help!

You certainly won't need to leave until the 2 years of your temporary spouse visa is up, but unless you apply for a different visa or are still together with your partner, you will be required to leave at that time.
As you run your own business, check this visa out to see if you qualify:

If not, one of the provisional business migration visas may do the trick for you. You'll find them in the same section of the website.
Try to do everything on the up and up or you'll forever be afraid that someone will dob you in and have you deported. |
