Do I still need a visa if a relative is from Ireland?

My grandmother was born in Ireland and moved here(America) in her 20s. Thus, she's a resident here. But, she is from an EU country, so do I still need a visa if I want to go to the netherlands? Can I use this to my advantage somehow? I also have other family members in Ireland.

I'm an American girl who has her GED and specializes in nothing at the moment so finding a company willing to sponsor me for a working visa is probably impossible.
Additional Details
I would like to work in The Nederlands b/c my fiance lives there and I believe I can by citizenship.

You can apply for Irish citizenship if your grandparent was an Irish citizen. This would allow you to hold an Irish/EU passport (along with your US one) and you would be able to travel freely within the EU without any need for a visa.

If you are visiting NL, you will be given 90 days entry as tourist & u can move freely within Schengen area as an American. After 90 days u must leave Schengen for at least 90 days to return.

If you want to live in NL for more than 90 days, then u need to apply for visa, having Irish Grandma wont imune from visa requirements as American.

You still need a visa. The only way you get a job in Europe is if someone offers you a job. He/She would have to prove that they have advertise the position in all 27 EU countries, and couldn't get anyone to fulfill the position, before they take someone from outside the EU.
