Do Mexican immigrants pose a threat to American unity?

No they don't. The same people who hate them are the ones who hate Blacks, Gays and anyone else they feel inferior to.

America has always been a melting pot where different cultures blend together to form a common identity, while also contributing to the mix.

The older Mexican immigrant will never learn to read English. Most don't know how to read and write Spanish. They also want to retire back in their home country of Mexico.

The second generation children of these immigrants are educated in American public schools are as American as anyone in this country.

I think if the US is overwhelmed by too many immigrants, they will not assimilate. Assimilation is harder in the predominately Spanish speaking areas of the country now developing in the Southwest. If these Latinized areas elect Mexican American politicians who value Mexican heritage over American values, the US could have something like Quebec in Canada.

IIn general, I don''t think the Mexican people pose a threat.
The problem would be if, just like some people in other ethnic groups, don't want to learn the language of the U.S., which is English, or, to become a part of the culture.
Any immigrants who come here and want to stay, should come with the purpose of assimilating, not just using the country to make money and keep to themselves.
It is an insult, just as it would be for us to go to another country and not learn the language or associate with the people.
But, for many Mexicans who come here just to make money for their families to survive, I do not hold this against them at all.
The Statue of Liberty represents opportunity and a better life for all.

Mexicans should learn our language and have an open forum with us in order to have any unity with us. They do however keep to themselves without even talking to any of us period and that disturbs me. I'm sure if any of us were in their country, we would have to learn their language so why not here? I do see that they pose a threat being that they don't want us to understand what they are saying and can't tell whether they're planning to do us harm in the near future or what. Why don't they get on board with us and learn our language and communicate with us? that's the only way they'll have unity with us. Do you agree?

yes because mexicans instead of assimilating make their own parallel towns

yes they want what america has to offer but they want there own rules and live by there way of life most of them are very loyal to there country and not ours they stick close to each other and victimize each other they don't agree with our values only theres.

Mexicans don't even bother to learn English when they come to our country. They are trying to turn the USA into the 2nd Mexico.

What frigging unity? This has always been one of the most segregated and ethnocentric countries in the entire world. Nobody really gives a rodent's rump about anybody different from them here unless money is involved, the Constitution is just a DC tourist attraction. Go chant the Pledge of Allegiance to some Aryan Brother, Minuteman, Latin King or Black Panther in a back alley with a wad of cash in your hand, see where that gets you.
