Do any British citizens think that now is the time to close Britain to Immigrants?

That time has come and gone in my opinion. Our country has been sold down the river. I'm fed up with hearing a multitude of different languages when i go shopping in my home town, i mean, these people have chosen to live in our country yet they stay in close knit groups of people who talk only their language, they look at you with wary eyes - sometimes can be quite hostile. People are not happy - british born who have lived here all their lives who's parents lived here, who's grandparents fought during the war to make this country as great as what it was ...all for what??? so we can open the floodgates and become invaded with everyman, his wife, 10 kids and his dog!
Our NHS in at breaking point, there is a shortage of housing for british families, jobs are being taken up - foreign workers are encouraged to apply for jobs while british workers are refused.
In 10/15 years time when all these immigrant women have had their share of babies we WILL be a minority in our own country, there will be racial tension between our kids who live side by side but are worlds apart because of cultural differences.
Its too late now, the gates are open and theres not a damn thing you or i can do about it.
Our country no longer belongs to us.

yea we should. the american govt. has no back bone and is full of politicians who only do what it takes to stay in office instead of serve the people.

also the govt. tries to do what is politically correct however citizens dont give a crap about what is politically correct we just want what is best for ourselves and the country.

also you maybe cant stop immigration but you can GREATLY reduce it but the measures it takes to do it will never be used in developed countries like Brit. and Amer. do to the political correctness issues and treaty laws etc. all we have to do is make it illegal, increase security measures, and then most important is makin the punishment so significant that most wouldnt even thinking about immigrated ever again. Punishments like death, chop off a hand or something (seriously lol). but that wont happen.b/c we will always give immigrants a slap on the wrist and deport them back to there country so they can try again...and again until they succeed.

the only people who should be aloud in are those who can contribute something. ie have a skill which this country lacks.

we have enough lay abouts sponging off the rest of us as it is.

having said that there are those (refugees) who do need help and i think we should help them. that doesn't mean we give them a house, money smile and then bend over!

they need food and shelter and we should supply that if we can BUT in a secure environment.

please don't tell me this is against human rights. its a lot better than what they are running from!

i agree because with the credit crunch write now we really don't have the money to be bringing more immigrants in. it was bad enough when we had them here first but now its getting out of hand.

yes the time has come , to close all doors , we are in serious trouble in the uk , and i can just speak for uk, and of course myself , and this hardship is just starting , and i also believe all criminals in our jails who are here illegal should be sent back to there homes , this alone is costing a fortune to keep them there , but i Wonder if this announcement has come far too late , weve done more than enough to help those who needed help , we in uk need that help now , who will throw us a life line , lets see !!!

There are issues with business' having to cut costs by sacking some of their work force, so they won't be finding too much work, no matter how little they will get paid. It isn't going to stop any of the illegal immigrants who pass through anyway. It might even encourage illegal immigration.

i dont think anybody should be denied accsess to any country (unless they have a criminal record that clashes with the countrys laws) its a free world were all animals and everyone should be free to go where they want.
