Yes. Their value to our economy is in the TRILLIONS. They pay billions in taxes every year, don't collect those taxes. They are consumers that buy houses, cars, food. homes, cloths etc....This is certainly something to look at before we say "deport them all".

Illegal immigrants' value to economy? $1.8 trillion

If the 8.1 million undocumented immigrants who cut lawns, bus tables and perform other jobs disappeared overnight, the nation's economy would lose nearly $1.8 trillion in annual spending.

Texas, the second-hardest-hit state after California, would lose 1.2 million undocumented workers and $220.7 billion in expenditures.

These are just some of the findings from a study done by the Perryman Group, a Waco-based economic analysis firm, whose work was commissioned by Americans for Immigration Reform, a group spearheaded by the Greater Houston Partnership.

The story also pointed out that the Perryman Group, an economic research firm in Waco, estimates that the annual contribution to U.S. gross domestic product by illegal immigrants is $652 billion. The group also cites that the costs of education, health care and incarceration in six states, including Texas, is at least $27 billion.

If illegals put more money into the US economy than they took out, I would personally start helping them across the border, as would all Dems., Libs., Reps. but thats not the way it is working.

They are nothing but thieves and do nothing good for this country. All they do is clog our sewer systems.

Well they contribute, but they also take from the economy. Most work under stolen identities which
causes extremely high legal fees for the owners in the billions in fact, others work under the table and not only do they pay no fed taxes, the company pays no payroll taxes. A significant percentage of them are criminals and costs the justice system billions of dollars. They use state resources such as schools and costs states billions, and they use private resources such as emergency rooms and that
also costs billions of dollars.
Add to that the violent crimes of the gangs and smugglers, you have a neg contribution

LOL Sure they contribute lots and lots of $$ with their under the table, half normal rate, menial jobs(taking jobs away from legal citizens of course). Yup, they contribute a lot alright. But keep in mind, they also use our medical system and the women pop kids out up here and we pay for their offsprings health, education(including ESL classes)

The stupid mantra about them being hard workers is so off
I mean really, how hardworking could they be if they take the easy and cheap way up here & refuse to learn the language of the country they invade?

As a California lib, it's been my observation that pro-illegals seldom know of any..unless of course theyre hispanic themselves and all racially prideful about the whole thing

EDIT: Amen to katmandu!

Yes they do, many people say illegal aliens don't do their taxes but in reality many do. When you come here legally or not, you can get an ITT number which is your tax ID number and with that you go and pay your taxes if you don't have a social security number. This is a way for them to identify themselves and pay their taxes. Also, when they get paid it is in the record for the person who hired them of how that money is being spent. The most important way in which they contribute to the economy is by them making things we buy and sell which keeps the economy going, just like a worker at a factory who is here legally and makes a shoe or a shirt that goes on sale and keeps the economy flowing illegal aliens work and make things such as be in plantations where they grow crops and those crops are sold and people sell and buy which is the main aspect of our market economy.

What does this even mean? The economy is an abstraction, and it can not be objectively measured in any meaningful sense.

Check all states with the best economy in the USA,and you´ll realize they are plenty of undocumented workers. They have to be legalized.

Yes they do. It's probably in the Trillions if they are able to contribute billions in Vegas alone.

Study: Immigrants vital to economy even amid budget crisis

Immigrants -- legal and illegal -- have come under fire lately, blamed for California's $42 billion deficit.

Some anti-illegal immigration groups estimate that immigrants -- both legal and illegal -- cost the state an estimated $18 billion a year. The figure is calculated from the taxes immigrants pay minus the costs for services, they say.

In response, The Immigration Policy Center, a Washington D.C.-based pro-immigration think tank, has issued a report filled with statistics, stating that immigrants are vital to the state's economy.

California's immigrants move up the socioeconomic ladder over time -- learning English, buying homes and escaping poverty, according to a report the center released Thursday.
