No, very few of them respect our culture and simply transplant their own culture to our country and expect us to just accept it.
I think the benefit system is a big lure. As is that fact that what they earn here can make them rich in their homeland. |

I am an immigrant, I am German and live & work since 3 years in the Scotland.
I am here because it is much easier to find a good job here than in Germany, and I also prefer the culture here. The people are more positive and friendly (in general).
I do not want to offend anyone, but I am definitely not here because of the NHS! The public health system is better in germany.
By the way, it can be very difficult for non-europeans to get a visa for the UK. It seems like many people think everyone can just come to the UK whenever they want, but it is not like this. It can be a long, difficult process, which often ends with an denial. |

it's not ne single thing.
Some will come because they can earn far more and have a better standard of living than they ever could in their own country.
others will come who have no intention of working, in these cases the over generous benefits system and free housing are bound to be major draws. As well as that it is relatively easy to enter this country as opposed to other western countries.
As well as the above the free health care has got to be attractive to everyone. |

Lots come because we are soft touch, they should have to make a fair amount of contributions before they get any handouts or medical treatment (unless its a genuine unforeseen emergency. |

It is obvious they come for different things "for a better life" "for safety" and our soft approach but the fact that we have a free nhs and handouts will obviously be the biggest reason they come here and do you think they would grant you asylum in there country if the tables were turned? no chance! lol. I wouldnt mind if the asylum seekers were mostly women and children but the truth is there all mainly aged between 20 to 30 (of fighting age) and that seems very wrong to me!

NHS and DHSS. oh and jobs. they were part of the old common whealth wich entitled them to come here. the government knew it would cause culteral clashes which keep the peasants minds devided and in trouble. this keeps the public sector in jobs who defend the government. they didnt think they would take over though. what goes around comes around. |

The immigrants I know have come here simply to work. They will work for a few years, save enough money, and then return home and live a decent life.
It's a pity the TRASH in this country aren't so pro-active! |

If you had to try and support a family on less then £1 a day you would do whatever you had to do to make sure they had what they needed to survive. Dont you think it is hard to leave your wife and children to go to a forgein country where no one really likes you and thinks you are sponging just to get enough money to feed your kids????
My close friend is forgein and he came over as there was no money coming into his house to feed his siblings as the oldest in the family ( his dad had dies ) it was his responsiblilty to feed and clothe them all. It is hard for him as he is now not allowed to go back home at all and hasnt seen his family for over 8 years. Since the fighting in Iraq it has been even harder as all the jobs have gone out there and now he has to find even more moeny to help whilst trying to live here as well. He dosent get benifits and works hard for the money he earns.
You cant treat all immigrants the same and to assume they are all terrorists or even arabic is wrong as the majority are only here to survive and look after their family the best way that they can.
If you are wondering why most are young men this is because it is up to them to find the money for the house. The woman stays at home to look after the children and the home. |

I believe most come for work but it is all the other benefits they receive that makes the UK the country they head for. Can I go to Poland or Rumania say, and receive help to find accomodation, be given free health care and education, and be given the (free) services of a translator? Not blooming likely! That is what sticks in the craw of many, remember too that the low paid work many of them do makes them eligible for working tax credits. Once in receipt of this they get a whole host of "freebies" paid for by we taxpayers. No wonder they sent £1.8b back to their homelands in the last year alone. That is just the figure the financial services are aware of and does not include cash sent through the post. The mind boggles! |
