However having said that, Our Government only wants a few rich, and the rest regular or average. Why? Because it has to do more with everyone becoming self sufficient and independent from our government. If we all became self sufficient and independent, we could tell our government to go to H*ll. And that's the last thing a government wants.

Nobody knows what the dream is since america has turned into a very ignorant, judgemental, and selfish place to live. They all need to be legalized soon so they can have a chance to live a normal life after so much they have been and still are put through everyday.

Just been in america is the american dream for many of them, knowing that them working can provide for their families. They are not here to destroy this country, they are here for their own dream. Provide for their families just like you and me. People have just turned oui to be so selfish withthe world is sad and ridicoluous... 7,000 dollars from Mexico and as much as 15,000 dollars with this kind of money these illegals could have lived for years in Mexico as the cost of living is way,way cheaper and just how does an illegal who is suppose to make 4 dollars a day manage to come with up 7,000 dollars from Mexico.It seems Mexicans have money when they need it. Mexicans just believe land of the free means all illegals are suppose to get everything free.Surely many write back to Mexico about how births are provide free of charge and even better the illegal expects the Gov to offer welfare, food stamps and medical care all free of charge,this may explain why hispanics have so many kids when there are no medical bills to pay and Gov will provide their kids for 18 years.The Mexico dream is the America nightmare

What that Mexican fellow said is nothing new. It can be said by anyone, even Native Born Americans. Some people, if not successful, need something to blame. In his case, he calls the system a lie. I've heard it a million times. But ask him, "is he better off in his home country or here?". All American families started somewhere else. My grandparents (mothers & fathers sides) were immigrants. But they managed, raised families. And it's being done today. Don't measure the American Dream by the thoughts of a few disgrultled people. The American Dream is alive and well.

It is exactly the same now as years ago. Of the millions who came for the "Streets paved in gold", how many became rich. Same now, a select few will make it big, the rest will be regular people.

Immigrants are PART of the American dream. America is (or was) a beacon of hope and freedom to the world (until Bush). "The truth" is that most immigrants get here, thinking the streets are metaphorically paved with gold, and then they realize that we aren't all that better than the rest.

Well, the problem is the dream has turned into a nightmare of late, I am one of them who is stuck in this nightmare.

I came into this nation legally, on a student visa, I finished my Master's here in a program that is in the top 10 in the nation, yet I have been unable to find a job since the past 6 months, now I am forced to work here as a daily wage laborer in spite of having a Master's in Engineering. That is the irony of USA, merit and talent has no recognition at all.

The only reason I am still working here is because I want to clear off my student loans atleast before I can make a move from here.
