Burning any countries flag is rude to the country of the flag. Why should one be any different from any other? |

In America, you can burn the American flag. In America, to burn someone else's flag is a hate crime. Someone was already arrested for that in Arizona.
ONLY IN AMERICA can you be anti-country and get special rights for being anti-American. |

Burning flags doesn't make you a racist. Now, burning people on the other hand... |

I think it is wrong to burn any flag...even if it isn't your culture...it's somebody elses. |

It's not "racist" when Mexicans burn our flag, so no, it's not racist. And yes, I think after seeing the things they did to our flag it is perfectly okay with me to burn theirs. |

I HAVE burned a mexican flag. Publically, mind you. It's to show a message. An act of war, if you will. I've done it before. I'll do it again. Doesn't make me racist. It shows exactly my intentions and love of THIS nation. |

I don't think you should burn any countries flag. Especially if it is YOUR country. |

Light it up! Drink some beer! If you do it in your back yard, who cares? It only counts when it's on the news.
Hell, I'll come over and bring some Bud Light! |

Racist? Mexico isn't a race.
I think I would expect it to offend those it means something to, and it would offend an awful lot of people I have nothing against at all, so why would I do it?
I think it shouldn't be illegal, and concede the same for burning the US flag, because I think the freedom of speech our country protects speaks much louder than any burning flag.
However, I'D be offended if someone did that, and would likely be opposed to whatever their position turned out to be. |

No,
In our new Politically Correct society you would be charged with a hate crime and they would throw the book at you. Not just any book though. A bible would be ok but not a koran. That would be a hate crime as well.
Hanging a noose somewhere, that didn't hurt anyone other than maybe to offend someone's sensibilities, is a hate crime while ganging up on someone and beating the crap out of them is not. Just ask Jesse Jackson. He would be more than happy to explain all of the nuances of the hate crime.
With San Francisco values running rampant in our Congress American citizens had better beware. |

Why would it be racist? It's not like the Mexicans would care, they are all here in America now anyway. |

It's perfectly okay to burn the Mexican flag, just as it's perfectly okay to burn the American flag. It's an expression of disrespect for the nation in question, which could be based on any number of things besides race. |

If I burned the Mexican flag I would not be a racist, since I am not a racist...I don't know about anybody else, just me. |

why would you be racist they burn or flag and desecrate it all the time and law enforcement looks the other way. |

No, the Mexican flag represents the country of Mexico. Mexican is not a race. A lot of Mexican's are Latin, but some are Asian, or African. It's not racist to burn the USA flag for the same reason. It's disrespectful of the country but not racist. |

Freedom of speech, burn it. They always burn the US flag, so why not? Or will they call us racist and unfair, not too unfair to come across the border and get a job, huh! |

I think flag burning itself is a juvenile and uneducated action...no matter who does it. It's the action of someone who can't make an intelligent argument for their point of view. |

If I am a Mexican and I burn the Mexican flag could I be racist against my own race? I don't really see how burning a flag equates to racism. Besides, the reason why one might burn it may very well have nothing to do with the people. Maybe they hate the government or despise the police or the living conditions whether they are a Mexican or any other nationality.
Keep in mind, Mexican is NOT a race of people. Mexican refers to citizens of Mexico. There are many many Latino peoples throughout Central and South America and the world for that matter.
Burning the Mexican flag would have implications toward Mexico as a country, not the race of the majority of the people that live there. |
