I think they should have to learn English to become a citizen and let them become citizens so they have to pay taxes also.

Yes as long as they are law abiding people and are willing to live by the laws of the land,I don't see why they should not have a chance to live like the rest of us do.I believe that after they are checked out to see that they are not criminals,then they should be given a chance to have a good life and earn a decent wage.Put yourselves in their shoe before you make any hasty decisions.

Yes.

They commit a crime by sneaking into the country but they work hard and deserve a chance. I think bush's guest worker program rocks because it doesn't say we agree with the crime but we are willing to work with these poor souls who want a chance at a good life.

Although I think a very strict policy on drug stuff should be made. If the illegal on the worker program is caught with drugs GOOD BYE or commits a theft or something like that GOOD BYE.

Our forefathers were illegal immigrants and they got a country. As much as I think sneaking into the country is a crime people deserve a chance. I'm half peruvian and I believe that mexicans aren't some lower people. Although they need to learn good english to make it here.

I have completed all legal processes to have my WIFE joint me here in the United States. We have been waiting 1 year and 9 months so far. We are told it may not be until November or December of 2006 before we hear. Our government has no idea the how many people they are treating badly. Let them fix the legal processes in a realiztic time frame first, to approve entry into the United States. Then deal with the illigel immigrants next.

Definitely and firmly no - not the way the government was doing it by ramming the immigration bill thru for corporate america. I feel if you have a Mexican family that has been here for more than 5 years and has had a good job, and contributed to the tax base - then they should be given first dibs on the road to legalization. The rest, round them up and send them home and apply thru proper channels. Also, if you are illegal, and you have kids - they are illegal too and not automatically a U.S. citizen. Kick the Republicans out, impeach George Bush and for the government to listen to the 280 million legal US citizens who are against Amnesty.

Yes(for most of them)! These people have come here looking for a better life, and they are willing to work hard for it. They come from places with little economic opportunity, political instability, unjust courts, corruption in government and business, unsafe streets, and famine. They come here seeking opportunity and a safe future for their families and children, just as our ancestors did. They are only illegal because it is impossible for them to get the passports and visas necessary.
