Do you actually believe that background checks would be run on millions of illegals?

They can't keep up with the paperwork now.
There is absolutely no way they could do back ground checks on the illegals here. They can't even keep up with the paperwork for people to come legally. And with these people already in the US how is their government going to prove they are who they say they are.
The US government request a criminal or health check on person A from Albania. How do we know they are really person A, how does Albania know they are really person A. It's absolutely ridiculous. Our government is not efficient enough, never will be. It's just a ruse to fool US citizens into thinking they really are going to verify who these people are. We and the Gov know there is no way they can verify who these people really are. It's an attempt to make us think they are doing their jobs.

You can't even begin to have an immigration policy until you have control of the borders. Thieves, smugglers and criminals of all sorts just walk across, drive across or just swim across the border.

Amnesty II will lead to more of the same. Stiff penalties for violations of immigration law and mandatory employer verification and penalties is only the start.

If you enter the US illegally:

You loose your right permanently for citizenship.
You forfeit all property and assets in the US.
Your family members become ineligible for entry and citizenship.
Criminal prosecution.

Not on 20 million people! Maybe an amnesty of a few million people could be done properly, but not with 20 million. It would take decades to do a proper background check on that many illegals. If a proper background check is not done, tens of thousands of criminals, terrorists, and gang members will get through as well as members of mecha and other radical groups. No Mass Amnesty!

I agree, there are good and bad. My point is, we don't need anymore bad. I have no problem with people wanting to become citizens here, LEGALLY. Everyone else did it right, why can't they. Wait your turn.

no, besides, how are they going to find them all? Too many have lived 20+ yrs using assumed/stolen identities and worked their way into every aspect of our daily lives. If they are found, just deport them and forget the bs. That is, after the border is secured to prevent their unwanted, illegal return. This would be just another bureaucratic, bogus nightmare that would never do what's its intended to do and would add further to the costs draining the wealth of this nation.

Of course! They will use a system similar to the one they use to check before giving out US benefits! Ak the criminals themselves if they qualify!
As far as drugs it is estimated that 25% of people crossing the border illegally are involved in smuggling! How about child molesters? 87,500 illegal alien child molesters in the US and how many will get amnesty?

No. They won't. And even if they did, the Mexican Government won't supply the information we need on those folks. They have not to this point.. they won't in the future. They should be totally cut off.

Will we ever be able to do a full background check and detect every single crime committed by every single immigrant? No. But that's how it is now with legal applicants for immigration. But there are methods to try and detect as much as we can, and keep track of future issues through fingerprints or iris scans.

I do not believe in open borders. That's a totally separate issue. I believe in streamlining and making more efficient what we already have.
