YES! Multiculturalism is the best thing that could happen. We are pretty multicultural in most states, but we need it throughout America so this stereotyping and hatred towards people the racists don't know can stop. If these haters actually meet a person from the group they hate......they might change their views. It will teach us different cultures and it'll give us an opportunity to meet people from different countries without leaving the US. |

Multiculturalism has been destroying many countries including the UK, Sweden, Etc.
The problem of late is supposedly peaceful Muslims have been moving into the counties...getting a foot hold...then demanding changes to accomodate them. Eevn 7% in UK when surveyed said that resorting to violence would be acceptable for bringing about Sariah law.
Many of these countries have been losing its national identity in the process of adding anyone and everyone under multiculturalism.
America demands you are an American FIRST. We have had a few honor killings in America and these misguided idiots thought they could get away with it since it was theri custom. Toilets in prisons had to be moved so they didn't face east, foot wash stations added to schools to accomodate Muslims in the country. Just look how much of an outrage Denmark flew into due to a paper portraying a cartoon version of Muhammad.
These types of civil unrest are viewed as stupid and have no basis here in America...because we aren't some rest stop, we are our own country, we have our own principles, we have our own history and customs, and if someone wants to come here to enjoy the freedoms, the liberties and persuits...then good for them....but they will be an American FIRST above all. |

As much as I advocate an overhaul of our immigration system, I don't see much purpose for a "multicultural" or "diversity" visa category. Our country is already very diverse, perhaps much more diverse than most other countries. Also, such a category would require interpretation of who contributes to diversity and who does not. |
