People who rent, employ, harbor, assist, ignore, or tolerate illegal immigrants are aiding and abetting illegal conduct. Enforce the law or change the law. There is no logistically sound middle ground.

Yep I agree with it. Do you think you could go to Italy or France or Russia and just buy land or rent a house while being in the country illegally?? Nope! Its about time we came up with some tough ways to deal with illegals. And by the way, its not THAT hard to get into the US legally - so I really don't think our labor force is going to suffer that much from getting illegals out of here.

If someone is an illegal alien criminal, they shouldn't be able to do ANYTHING in our country, such as work, rent or buy homes, open bank accounts, get loans, drivers licenses, apply for any benefits....common sense stuff.

If an illegal alien criminal isn't even supposed to be in our country, they certainly shouldn't be allowed to live and work as citizens and legal immigrants do.

I agree... only US citizen, permanent residents, and anyone here legally with unexpired visa&passports should be entitled to purchase home and rent...

People who live in other countries can buy and lease property in this country, for investments or for vacation or other temporary personal reasons, however, if they show their current residence as Dallas, and have no legal right to live there, I don't see a problem with the new law.

I bet there will be some activist judges that disagree though.

I agree. If they are here illegally, they can't get legal jobs, which means they work illegally and sometimes criminal jobs, which means they won't pay taxes. Why should they be allowed to own a home?? I think that real estate should be kept for the legal working, tax paying citizen.

Yes. Immigrants from anywhere.. fine. NOT illegal aliens and one reason that appears above all is that the illegal aliens can commit a crime and get out of town.. OR... be deported, without paying for his crime in jail, or with a stiff fine.

Illegal aliens have been getting a free ride. They have become more and more difficult to deal with as they demand rights they are not entitled to. We can provide the amnesty, but not one single soul will talk about the cost of that amnesty and Heritage Fondations put it at some 2.2 trillion dollars.

Do we all understand the illegal aliens are closing hospital after hospital? Did you know they are taking the rooms in the old folks home. It cost some three thousand a month minimum to get your old one in a private home because the old folks home we set up with tax dollars are filled with illegal aliens.

I agree with what they are trying to accomplish. But to be honnest this is the job of the federal govt. States should not have have to be passing such laws as it smacks of racism...and this is not the kind of country we want to be.

I sure wish they would seal the borders and crack down on employers at the federal level like they need to be doing though.

The City of Dallas should seek a similar ordinance but do not have the guts but will continue to have us Dallas taxpayers pay for the schooling, medical treatment, obgyn for their babies. The problem in Texas and in dallas and houston in particular is out of hand and the taxpayers are footing the bill. George Bush whom conservatives put into office has turned his back on those who brought him to the dancee and is supporting the Illegal Mexicans over the taxpaying citizens of Texas. Anglos citizens in Texas have no constitutional rights anymore and are told it is none of our business what is right it is for us to do as local and state and federal goverment tell us to do. The US is turning into a social governemnt.

That action don't stop the problem. In the other hand, there will be popping out more problems, like where in the hell the people is going to live? Under a bridge? In the streets? I"m against the illegal immigration, but at the same time, I feel bad for them, if they would have a better choice for staying in their countries with better possibilities of jobs, education and the minimal that it is food, they wouldn't come here. I'm not a extreme Christian, believe me, but sometimes I remember that Jesus family has to flee their hometown so Him could be safe. He was born in Bethlehem in a very humble and poor site. His family was a stranger to those lands also. To have a little of compassion doesn't hurt nobody.

Great idea. We have to do something to keep them from coming here. If we can't stop them going across the border, the next best thing is to keep them from setting up house here. If all communities were like this, the illegals would have no choice except to go back where they came from.

I agree. For far too many years people have come to this land without regard for its laws, its economy or its people. They just come and take what they want, just because they have their wants and needs. They do this to "have a better life" for their selves and their children. Just because this happens to be a land rich in resources and they don't want to make their own government and culture accountable for its own peoples needs.
This is a selfish act destructive to our culture and economy. They bring with them their own problems and diseases that waters down and destroys what is already here. They do not have the right to be here based on this logic. So I conclude, based on this logic that anybody who is not Native American should be sent back to their countries of origin. Think about it.

The name "Illegal" already states that no law should protect them. And that is fine if we as "Legal" residents feel that they have no right to rent or live in America.
The question is, "Do these laws apply to Illegal Immigrants from Ireland, France, etc. etc.?"

If a white family applies for an appartment with the last name of O' Leary, and a brown family applies for another appartment with the name Martinez, who is going to get the back ground check?

This is where the Star of David was helpful in Nazis Germany. Maybe we should all wear the Bald Eagle on our clothing symbolizing we are Legal to be here.

The key word here is ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. Did that escape your attention or did you intentionally ignore it?? Nobody said that legal immigrants shouldn't be allowed to purchase property.

Why do you feel bad for them?? They belong in their country, not ours. They knowingly and intentionally broke our laws to come here.

Why don't you "feel bad for" the country whose laws they spit on when they invaded it. WE are the victim here, not them.

Illegal alien criminals should not be allowed to work, buy houses, rent houses, open bank accounts, have drivers licenses, attend public schools paid by our tax dollars, or receive any other benefit or service paid by taxpayers.

They are in the country ILLEGALLY and as such should not be entitled to anything citizens and legal immigrants are. The only thing they are "entitled to" is a swift kick in the rear end back to THEIR OWN COUNTRY!!!!

So what about the majority of the ones who own homes they payed cash money for? There are only a hand few that rent homes and apartments just because they know the risk. Hummm I wonder what will be next........?

They passed a similar law in Escondido, CA and it was struck down. Many felt it put an unfair onus on landlords to verify that immigration documents were valid and not forgeries. I think it's sad that we've gotten so far away from the America that welcomed immigrants to Ellis Island, promising those who wanted better lives for their families the chance to find them here. Now we talk about building walls between the U.S. and Mexico when the immigrants who come here are, for the most part, honest laborers who just want a decent day's pay and better lives for their families. The U.S. has just gotten too big too fast with too many people, not enough jobs, and too much debt. Those of us whose families came here from Ireland, Italy, Germany, etc. can be thankful things were different 100 years ago.

Some of my Friends have second homes in Florida.(for holiday purposes. I live in UK). How do they know that the illegal is not just a foreign investor like these.

Having said that I can't see why it should be legal for an illegal immigrant to own property in the US.

It is US policy not to let criminals into the country and illegal immigration is illegal.
