Yes,I agree.
This nation can only take so much human wreckage from other nations before it implodes under the burden of other nations' mismanagement of their own people. |

IF YOUR PARENTS ARE ILLEGAL SO ARE YOU. I DON'T CARE HOW MANY GENERATIONS YOU HAVE BEEN HERE. |

I agree 100% with them.
The intent of the 14th Amendment regarding citizenship was to grant citizenship to the children of the slaves, not illegal aliens.
Most of Europe and Asia have changed their laws, requiring parents to be citizens or legal residents. We should as well, and remove an incentive for illegal aliens.
As for jurisdiction issues, illegal aliens frequently resort to appealing to their home nation consulates for assistance in fighting deportation, for ID's, etc. They are exerting their home nations jurisdiction over them. The bill is not stating they are not under US jurisdiction as far as law enforcement is concerned, but that their home jurisdiction is the basis for citizenship for their children. Mexico protests on behalf of their citizens' illegally here, and thus exerts their jurisdiction over them. |

YES! Its about time somebody tries to stop this "anchor baby" practice. Did you know that 66% of all babies born in California in 2006, where to illegal Mexicans, and the births were paid by US citizens tax money. Why does nobody go after the corrupt Mexican govt to take care of their citizens? |

This LOOPHOLE must be closed immediately. Citizenship just like Driving is a privilege, NOT a right!
Mexican mothers should not use their children as political pawns. Do you hear me Elvira Arellano?
The 90 House Members are to be congratulated.
It swells me with national pride. Like Bob in the Enzyte commercials |

Absolutely!
It's blatantly obvious that individuals who come here on "tourist" visas and end up staying to have their children are using our facilities and they're manipulating our laws so they can get a meal ticket into this country.
Eventually our resources are going to run out - sooner than imagined, if we continue to let these illegal aliens *no matter where they're from or what color their skin may be* take control of the things OUR FOREFATHERS worked SO HARD for! |

I pray this bill passes. I guarantee that if American citizens tie up the telephone lines to congress (like we did in regards to that ridiculous amnesty bill)... This bill will definitely pass. |

I don't know, but I do not think that it will pass in the end. I do believe if a mother gives birth on the tax payers dime, we should check her immigration status |

I agree. 400,000 children a year is WAY out of hand-mass migration back-forward-HO!! Next, that they take themselves home on the Mexican trucks. |

suenami_98
|
Absolutely agree!
The 14th Amendment says quite plainly that children born in this country to parents who are NOT subject to the jurisdiction of this country are not to be granted citizenship.
Since Mexico sees fit to let the illegal aliens in the U.S. keep their Mexican citizenship, and since those same illegal aliens march in our streets carrying Mexican flags -- there's no valid argument for granting citzenship to the anchor babies. They can pledge allegience to only one flag.
According to those who actually wrote the 14th Amendment, that's what they intended. |

Oh boy, isn't this fodder for the ACLU? I bet they jump on this one to prevent this bill from passing. Yes, illegal aliens should not have their children declared legal. The buck should stop here, but of course the Democrats oppose it, and they control congress. |

You bet! This whole 'anchor kid' thing is an anathma. |

redwingnut16
 |
Yes 100% My parents came to this country Legally to escape WW2. They had to jump through all the hoops necessary, and so should everyone else or all the people who did it legally including my parents would roll over in their graves or feel let down by the very government they so desperatly wanted to come to. To let everyone into this country illegally would jepordise our security which most people came to this GREAT country for! That includes the children of people comming to this country just to have children here and become citizens! |
|

WILDMAN
|
GIVE ME A HELL YES ON THAT ONE. THE DEMOCRATS & THE ACLU WILL GO NUTS ON THIS. |
|

plezurgui
|
Yes, after all, they are here illegally as well as the parents. Children should not be conceived as an anchor to get the parents into the USA permanently.
I do believe that good enforcement of denied social benefits to illegals, the inability to hold a job, and increased barriers along the border make this a much smaller issue. But until those things come along, this would certainly cause no harm. |

Yes, I agree.
Here we go again, a never-ending battle, I guess. Maybe they'll get tired of having their PBX, fax, and email bogged down.
"myself": how do you figure that the child staying with it's parent(s) is punishment? If the parents are deported, they should take the children. |
|

ponusjoe42
|
Wake up people! We don't need another law, we just need to enforce the existing ones.
As far as the 90 idiots are concerned, it's just a "dog and pony show". It would take an amendment to the constitution to change the law. Well, at least there's a list of 90 members of the House that never read (or don't understand) the Constitution. |
