I think legal presence should be checked with the parents when the kids enroll. That is hardly revolutionary. They already check to make sure you are in the district you live in so that even American parents can't take their kids to a better school in a different district than the one where they live.

If you subsidize it, more will come. That is what subsidies do.

Worse, no one who lives in a border state can truthfully pretend that the huge numbers of illegally present, non English speaking kids with parents with low educations themselves is not greatly harming the quality of education for our own kids. It is a very basic budget, training and facilities matter with numbers this huge.

and to those who say it's not the kids' fault...It's not my kids' fault we don't live in Beverly Hills, but my kids are still not entitled to go to those schools there...

I think the law should be enforce everywhere. We would pick up kids on the street if they were breaking the law. Even if they haven't been taught better. Than we would go to the parents. I don't think we should be unkind to them in the process. How will they learn right from wrong if someone doesn't step in? It's obvious the parents don't seem to care if it suits their wants. I like the answer their kids can't go to Beverly Hills School just because they want them too. I think many would like an education other than where they are at. Once again they are not entitle to it and the law should apply everywhere. Someone mention there is a law saying they can, that might be and so it is followed. But I think it should be stopped at enrollment. Its crooks (our government) allowing more criminal action. And that doesn't surprise me. Birds of a feather flock together.

A major draw of the illegal aliens is the schools their kids will get. Mexico doesn't offer such schools, but as the illegal aliens have begun to go home, the Mexican Government seems to be changing their mind.

It is ENORMOUSLY expensive to educate non-taxpayers. Many illegal aliens are just that too, and more, welfare reciepients.

I favor stiff fines for employers who hire illegal immigrants, a security fence along our borders, and a denial of citizenship to children born here of parents who are in the U.S. illegally. I oppose any form of amnesty. If people from OTHER countries can patiently await the proper procedure and paperwork, why should our "neighbors" get "special treatment??

yes, these illegals and children of illegals DO bring down the educational system, then they get free lunches which are federally funded, their parents are criminals and the apple does not fall far from the tree, these children are taught criminal behavior at any ones expense very early, unfortunately these criminal parents are not held responsible for these teachings. many teachers are quiting the education field because they do not want to try and teach a class that has illegals in it. their parents put them in this situation so we do not want to hear whiners say, they are only children or they are innocent of parents wrong-doings. then the parents should be tried for child abuse and neglect charges.

Where was the illegalities when the forefathers of this great nation. so called, ransacked the natural American Indian off of this continent. Matters were not so kind also in the southern hemisphere as the Spanish Conquistadors ransacked through there. And how about the French through Canada.

America is free! Sure we should have some way of communicating so everyone is on the same page. South Americans have a tendousy to speak a few languages to make it, Brazil is such a country.

Our schooling is for the now American citizen. If an illegal would want to put there child through school and are not paying taxes through the legal channels, they should pay for their childs education, starting with language! We can not teach the deaf and if they do not understand then they are deaf to any teaching. Language should also be taught so that we are able to understand others as we would expect them to understand us. Every child should have the opportunity to learn. What they do with that education?

We should enforce the LAW everywhere, school, work, home, the streets, everywhere. If you donâ€™t think so why don't you let the drug dealer have a place where they can break the law and have no fear of being arrested?

OK, NO I do not want ICE or INS going in and taking kids out of the class rooms. No need for that at all.

These kids shouldn't even be allowed to enroll IMO, that's where the enforcement SHOULD begin, but unfortunately as some have pointed out the courts don't see it that way.
I am under the impression that many here don't realize the cost to the taxpayers to educate these illegals. If they did they might just change their tunes.

Citizens need to have their voices heard and make Washington get it that we are tired of footing the bill for people who are here illegally!!!

Most defiantly! They crowed our schools and bring down test scores because most of them do not understand the language. That forces the teacher to spend more time with them and that makes the rest of the students in the class fall behind

I think it should be done at beginning before entry. The American people do pay for this and it is costly. Sorry to say there should not be any free rides, we can't afford it. If others want an education, they need to pay for it just like everyone does. Or self-educate those who want to learn will. And I think everyone here should pay tax on schools not just homeowners.

A criminal act is a criminal act period. The age of the malefactor has no bearing on the offense. Illegal Aliens should be arrested as soon as identified and deported. Age, economic status, or family does not matter. The law should be blind to this sort of thing. It was when I was a kid and still should be.

I think that the children should be rounded up and removed just like anyone else. The children are not at fault. It is the parents that brought them along on a criminal act! Be very nice to the children but any parent who involves their children in a criminal act should be booted across the border.

I think not! Those children cannot help that their parents are illegal. And I think it is the fault of the school to take them in. So the school is responsible, not the children. Here in Holland they did the same. They went with a few police officers in a classroom to take an illegal child out. The children were traumatized by this all., not to mention the state of the child who they took with them. Personally I think I would have kicked the police his ***, because it is psychological damaging for the child. And when there is a drug runner here who bothers and threatens people they do nothing, but a child they are brave enough to arrest. I am getting so tired of this all. At school when the cops pull over their dad for drunk driving or driving without a license or insurance, when the cops are called when dad or grandpa beats up mom and or grandma, when drugs are found on them, when cops arrest them for gang activity, when cops catch them stealing or any other crime that is committed by illegals. Depot them when they have fake documents or steal a car or any number of things cops let go without a thought for US citizens rights.

It's one of the few places I believe should be considered untouchable. We complain about all the stupid people here and the world , and even though they should not be here, it is a way to reduce the number. The problem is that there shear number and political power has diminished our school system. Schools are now holding pens, rather than a center of learning. I was horrified to see what was going on in school meetings. Immigrants would come to school meetings in foreign military attire demanding that we dumb down our school system so their kids would not look stupid.
