To answer your question, no it isnt racist...but you do have a valid point about illegals coming in from the north...many do not realize how many are coming in from Canada, and actually it is quite a few....many chinese and asians are coming in through this route....but here is one more thing to consider about our northern border...the 9/11 terrorists came in that way as well....we need to secure both borders not just from illegals, but the terrorist threats as well! |

Because the standard of living in Canada is similar to the US there is very little desire among Canadians to work south of the border. For those who do it is relatively easy to obtain a work visa. As a result there is essentially no illegal immigrant problem on the Canadian border. |

No.
Also I love that failed logic, thousands, compared to millions, lets aim to build a LONGER MORE EXPENSIVE FENCE for thousands, but lets not focus our attention at the LESS EXPENSIVE SHORTER FENCE which would be in a area where millions have come through. |

No, because if only the number coming from the north were coming from the south, we probably wouldn't be complaining, at all.
What would be racist would be to say that when millions from the south are here illegally, the few from the north should have priority deportation first. |

Since we don't have millions of people pouring into the United States from Canada why would it be racist? We need agents on both borders but lets face it we all know where the majority comes from don't we. Is it racist if its a fact? Blending is hard to do when you can not work because you do not have proper documentation, the Canadian would stand out to an employer as much as those crossing the southern border. |

what kind of lame brained question is that - we don't have Canadians crossing our borders illegally. And how could that be considered racist? |
|

Not at all, it's just a matter of addressing resources in proportion to the problem. There are comparatively few illegal immigrants from Canada, many from Mexico.
Though neither border is any where near being effectively secured, the southern border is clearly in more pressing need of it.
It's true that an english-speaking canadian can probably 'blend' better than the typical mexican, but canadians just don't have the incentive to leave canada, which is a developed nation with notoriously generous social policies. |

That is a rather simple answer.
Over 90 % of the illegal immigration that happens comes from our southern border - the last figure that I heard was 92%. That leaves 8% for all of the other countries of the world combined. And the next amount is from Asia - so I don't think there is that much of a threat of illegal immigration from Canada. |

Notice the ONLY card the pro illegals have on this one is the "race" card.
They certainly don't have logic, illegal immigration numbers, or illegal immigration statistics on their side to support their claim (as if they EVER do)!!! LMAO!! |

I agree with Yoda. It doesn't make any more sense for the U.S. to concentrate equally on securing our Canadian border vs. our Mexican border any more than it does for Mexico to EQUALLY enforce its border with the U.S. as it does its southern border.
The ratio of illegal aliens entering the U.S. from our Mexican border compared to our Canadian border is probably comparable to illegal aliens entering Mexico from its southern border compared to their northern border.
Of course...notice the pro-illegals are ignoring this very important point!!!
RACE has NOTHING to do with it. |

Maybe the reason we don't have any border agents and a wall along Canada is because Canadians aren't the ones flooding across the border illegally?
That would make a lot of sense don't you think? |

I've never seen a Canadian fruit picker working in the States, and monies made by illegals and sent back out of this country doesn't even register on the Canadian economy. The jails and schools aren't choked with Canadian illegals, and they speak a common language. You can label it racist if you'd like, but it isn't. |

I like the above analogy. A trickle compared to a flood.
Imagine a dam that's ready to burst, holding back a huge lake that threatens to flood a town. Coming from the other direction is a small creek that only admits a comparatively small amount of water.
Which are you going to concentrate the VAST majority of your efforts on?
This is common sense stuff. Those refusing to admit it are being hard headed. Anybody with half a brain knows the answer.
The same as what Mexico does comparing ITS northern border to its southern border. |

Do you think it's racist to make a big deal about borders, border agents, and illegals entering INTO Mexico from their southern border?? And why do you suppose Mexico doesn't make a big deal about THEIR border with the U.S.?? Answer honestly and you have the answer to your question.

MEXICO CITY, Mexico - For the past month, America's attention has been focused on the Middle East war. During that time, another 300,000 illegal aliens have crossed America's border with Mexico. But you won't believe how Mexico treats its illegal aliens.
Illegal aliens from Mexico were allowed to march through America's cities, demanding citizenship – some even waved the Mexican flag. But illegal aliens inside Mexico, mostly from Guatemala and Honduras, are literally on the run.
Some travel by train and some hide, trying to stay one step ahead of the Mexican Federal Police.
The Mexican government was outraged by the movement to build a new wall on America's southern border. Mexico's Foreign Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez went before the cameras to protest.
Derbez said, "Mexican immigrants are not felons or terrorists. They are human beings who deserve respect and the opportunity to live with dignity."
But in Mexico, when it comes to the treatment of its illegal aliens it's, ‘Do as I say, not as I do.’
Mexico has called U.S. immigration policy "harsh," and has called the proposed wall on the U.S. Mexico border "shameful." But some have called the Mexican immigration policy "hypocritical."
Enter Mexico illegally and you're treated as a felon. If you're caught by the Federal Police, you'll be fortunate if you're only deported immediately. The unfortunate are robbed, abused, raped, or even murdered by corrupt police officers.
Fernando Aguilar Neri coordinates Red Cross efforts to help illegal aliens in Mexico.
“When people approach us, they are usually fearful that we work with the government and are afraid of being reported,” said Neri. “…One of the seven principles of the Red Cross is complete neutrality and independence, so we can't cooperate with the Mexican government on the illegal alien issue.”
Neri says that most illegals moving through Mexico try to avoid the cities.
The Catholic Church also shields illegal aliens from the Mexican government. CBN found two shelters for illegals in Mexico City, but weren't allowed inside.
Most of the Central Americans inside are on their way to the United States. They'll be fortunate if they arrive unharmed.
One immigrant from El Salvador said, "If you are carrying any money, the police take the money and then say, get out of here."
"We still have 20 days of travel (to reach the United States)," another one said.
But if you're a Mexican wanting to enter the U.S. illegally, then you can count on the Mexican government's help and support. It even has a special department called Grupos Beta that helps Mexicans cross the U.S. border illegally.
But in an interview with CBN News, the head of Mexico's Immigration Service, Hipolito Treviño, denied it.
“Grupos Beta is the Mexican government initiative which does not help people cross the border, but they do assist them when they have problems in the border area,” Trevino said.
But Grupos Beta gives them a booklet, which includes tips on how to safely cross the U.S border. Trevino denied the allegation that immigrants are also given maps by the government.
“No maps,” he said. “We give them recommendations about the dangerous animals they'll encounter, how much water they need every day, what to do in case they get lost, what to do in case they get detained by the border patrol, which paths are dangerous because of crime.”
The reason for the government's help? The cash sent home by Mexicans in the U.S. constitutes the second biggest source of foreign currency in Mexico after the oil industry. Last year that was $20 billion, or 2 percent of Mexico's GDP.
About 10 percent of Mexico's population is now living in the United States, that’s over 10 million people. And how many illegal aliens in its own country has Mexico legalized in the past five years? Just 15,000.
The Mexican government may think a new wall on the U.S. border is offensive, but critics are saying far worse things about Mexico's immigration policy. |

Because the numbers of illegal immigrants coming from Mexico extremely outnumber the number of Canadians illegally immigrating. And also, Canadians also do not need a visa to enter the US and Mexicans do, so what is the point in building a wall if they can legally go around it and enter the country. |

most citizens from canada are not going to come here and stay.. alot of people can tell the difference with the languages used and the accents.. canada is english, french.. not hispanic |

I think it is Racist to ignore the fact that there are millions and millions of illegals crossing the Mexican border compared to the dozens and dozens sneaking in from Canada.
One is an emergency situation the other is more like a situation barely worth mentioning.

In the end it is our country and our decision who comes in and who stays out, it doesn't matter if those who are kept out think its unfair, racist or otherwise. |

You must be joking? Do you really think Canadians are pouring across the border? Are there hospitals closing because so many Canadians show up without any ID or insurance? Is there are a rash of business that hire Canadians to work "under the table"? Are there Canadians on the welfare roles with no ss#'s? Are there Canadians loitering outside of Home Depot?
Pull your head out of the sand! I know it's not "politically correct" to recognize the truth anymore, but your political correctness will be your own undoing. |

because 57% of the illegals in the U.S. are not canadian they are mexican. so our money is better spent completing the fence at our southern border. by the way it is being built and surprise it's working. we are deporting illegals and that is not a race it is a group of individuals who have entered our country illegally. |

No. You apply the remedy to the problem. There are very few illegally entering from Canada. But you have organized gangs (MS13) bringing in people from Mexico. |

Yes. Even worse is how people only talk about illegal immigrants from Mexico. They go on and on and on about how horrible illegal immigrants are, but they only seem to talk about Mexican illegal immigrants. Even though there are thousands if not millions of illegal aliens from other countries here in the U.S.! I've heard that most illegal aliens in the U.S. are actually from various Central American countries rather than Mexico. There are also probably thousands of illegal immigrants from Canada, and from various other countries around the world.
But the worst of all is how so many people seem to assume that all hispanic people, or at least all people who speak spanish, are illegal immigrants. |

on second thought yes it is racist because they are signaling out the southern border while being so lovable to dam Canada. its just many Americans think that our laws is so glorious and perfect. when its NOT. An imperfect law will have many side affects. Examples are laws on immigration have horrendous affects such as more illegals. |
