I hate people asking such question time and time again to being the morons out of the woodwork. Or is that the sort of answer i shouldn't say, and thus get thumbs down for - so what. Went to Spain last year and thought I was in Blackpool with English who lived there not bothering to speak a word of Spanish. When people deliver their verdicts, it would be interesting to learn why BRITISH are not too keen on working, and doing jobs they think are 'beneath them'. Maybe we 'hate foreigners' because we're envious of their determination. |

I don't hate foreigners who come to work here, because at least they are working. What I do dislike is foreigners who come over specifically to be housed and loaded with benefits, and DON'T work. Whilst everyone else born and breed in their country have to suffer long hours of work to just about afford a box room in a house, along with just about managing to pay all the bills, and support your family. That THAT makes me angry. |

I think most foreigners who come here are hard workers and often have to do jobs that some lazy Americans wouldn't think of doing. So no, I think foreigners should be welcomed here. |

Its funny I have never seen doctors on the dole but when my family needed one of the best heart surgeons in the UK he was Egyptian so if they want to work welcome too many British people are only too willing to sit at home on benefits and let them. |

Hi there
There's nothing wrong with people coming into the UK to look for work its our governments policies that are a complete sham! We should have a points system like the US and Australia where you need to have a degree and a job to go to before you arrive. They whole equal rights thing here is a farce and our benefits system is a complete joke. You only have to look at how our Police Forces are recruiting to get the general idea. Don't get dragged into the issues about someone has to fill the job gap. The reason why there is a shortage for unskilled workers is the poor pay and conditions they receive. Just check out your local hand car wash and see who is working there! Is it right for people to seek asylum in a developed country only to be given poor pay and working conditions? Of course not! Again the government allows crappy employers to take advantage of vulnerable people.
We have created this mess ourselves. You cant blame people for taking advantage of a weak and inadequate system.

No, of course not. Someone has to do the work, and if the people who live here already don't want to, then we should be grateful that other people are prepared to come here who do. |

I dont even hate foreigners who come to work in this COUNTRY.
Isnt it funny how all the people who disagree with immigration can't even spell or use the correct grammer of the country they are trying to defend.

The bodies of 4 of our soldiers flew home from Afghanistan yesterday. One of them was a South African immigrant.
Our army is 30% understaffed and none of the 2.5 million unemployed will join up, this leaves the immigrants to protect you whilst you sit at your computer and draw benefits.
Please don't tell me that the war is unjust because this is not Iraq, it is Afghanistan and that came after 9/11.
Anyway it was his job to go anywhere he could to make British people safe.
Most of you are too young and uninformed to know that the Polish did a lot for Britain in the last war.
If it were not for immigrants they may need national service,so that the defence force can operate.
Maybe this is not a bad thing as it would take down unemployment and teach our youth to respect others. |

Anybody that wants to come to this country legally and do an honest days work for an honest wage is OK by me. Its fine if their between jobs and claiming benefits while genuinly looking for work as well. |

Hey, you have to be careful with this one - several reasons -
a) Would you rather foreigners worked or scrounged benefit?
b) If they are working, they must be filling jobs that are up for grabs and would otherwise be vacant and
c) Would you be so annoyed if a "foreigner" was a pioneering heart surgeon or a police officer who came to your aid?
Just because you see "foreigners" filling local jobs, it isn't always a bad thing and they fill jobs in every sector, you must take the rough with the smooth and learn to accept however difficult it appears.
It is possible for foreigners to benefit the community. |

No i do not mind foreigners coming to work here.My only regret is that people tend to see one news item about a foreigner not working and they all get tarred with the same brush.Good luck to anyone who wants to improve there lives by working abroad,my husband and i had no choice,he went abroad to earn the money for a deposit to buy a house for us. |

No I dont. We live in the EC, we have a right to travel and work where we like and so do they. Plurality and free speech are good things |

That depends on the foreingers.
If they come here legally to work, pay taxes and raise a family they are welcome , but with the proviso, that they contribute to the traditions and culture of my country.
It is unreasonable to expect the host country to change its culture or lifestyle to suit immigrants that arrive from all over the world bringing with them myriad cultures. Attempting to accommodate such diversity would destsroy our own culture and create racial resentment amonst the host population.
If immigrants do not approve, or want to be part of my country's way of life, then they should not come here. |

No i don't hate them if the want to come here to work, but a lot of them just come here to take advantage of our benefit system, why should they be entitled to free health care, schooling and housing, you wont get the same treatment in their countries It would be interesting if they could stop all these benefits to foreigners and then see just how bad our health system is in, but i know that will never happen, instead the government will just blame us, and we must change our life style, like stop driving our car, stop flying, in fact just work and pay your taxes and stop complaining |

No, Scotland's population is in decline & we need foreign people to come here to boost the population.
As long as people are skilled, want to work hard & just don't want to leach of our Social Security system I can't see a problem with it.
You might get a different response from people in England to this quesiton though, they are a bit more racist there & think Polish people are taking all of their jobs. |
