My friend is not from the U.S. and we are taking our Drivers Ed in school soon... Dose anybody know if it's a requirement for him to be a citizen?... (Texas)

If he is in the country legally then he can get his license.
If not then he must live in one of the illegal alien sanctuary states that allows illegals to get a license. Here in my state, WA, illegals can get one but a legal citizen from another state has to jump through more hurdles. Its a shame.
Alaska, Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Washington and West Virginia are the states that allow illegals to continue to break the law. Texas does not. |

as long as he is here legally ( either with a visa or a greencard) he can get it. If he has a u.s ss# he can get it even if he is illegal at the moment, they do not check your immigration status as long as you have a valid ss#. If no visa or ss# I'm not sure... |

I know the Law in California is that if you are a lawful resident as in having a green card you can apply for a drivers license. But if he is an illegal alien than no he does not have a right to a drivers license. |
