Do you know if a person has ever been sent by mail?

I know of a couple people who have; however, I'm looking for a specific person. I can't for the life of me remember what his name was, but he was an African-American boy who escaped slavery by mailing himself in a large wooden crate. If anyone knows his name, I would really appreciate it! I'm supposed to be a writing assignment for Black History Month.
