At the minimum, you need a return ticket (plane, bus, train), a valid passport (or a birth certificate plus current government photo id), proof of attachment to the U.S., proof of income or money sufficient for your stay....and a notarized letter of permission for you to cross the border that is signed by both of your parents and witnessed. And even then, the border guard can still refuse to let you into Canada if he decides that you may outstay your welcome or for whatever reason he chooses. Please note, that you will face extra scrutiny from border guards when you cross the border by bus! |

teen ager must have a letter of permmision from BOTH parents - one letter signed by both if still married, or two letters - one from each parent if they are divorced.
If one parent is dead then they need a letter from the surviving parent and a copy of the dead parents death certificate.
if there is no letter then teenager will NOT be allowed to cross the border. |
