yes i do...a lot of them...and i'm not 'illegal' i'm an american mutt...i researched in hs i have 16 different nationalities in my tree...my branches are far spread...i don't think they are bad and sponging and free riders and classless!!!! i know hard working upstanding people!!!!! sure they aren't all good, but come on neither are 'americans'... i like your questions pancha! i think you are a very smart girl...and i don't know what nationality you are, but i am as my father says, half texan...and half 15 other nationalities...and if you can tell me that a texan isn't a nationality, then why the heck don't we just decide that mexican isn't either and start working with the issues, not against them. sorry, i don't agree with that idiot above me..we can and we do help all...we help them we help us we help other countries...i HATE the small mindedness narrow viewed of the big picture which is it's not a problem, it could be if handled properly a very profitable business...and look, some people are using that now....Americans are so lame...and yes, I am one! Born in San Diego! |

Yes I do.
I work with one now and several others in the past.
They are all enjoyable to work with, and seem to be normal like any other persons I have worked with in the past.
Exept for one thing,
"THEY ARE ILLEGAL"
They do take advantage of the system and do not want to learn "English".
I think that is disrespectful to me and my country and I can't wait when they go back!
They can be good decent people in their own country. |

Yes I do know a lot of illegal immigrants living in my hometown. And they all are here for the same reason to see how much money they can save to take to their hometown in Mexico. I know a lady that was living with an american citizen for 11 yrs. and the man suddenly felt ill and they found out he had cancer on his stomach so, he married the lady that was from Mexico, now, she wants some money for herself because she was living with this man for all those years. Unfortunately that man had sons from his late wife and he had named them beneficiaries in case he died but, this lady who is an illegal alien wants to go back to Mexico with a lot of money on her hands. Interested in money? you tell me. |

Yes, and I came to that conclusion based on the ones I know! |

Their character is not really a relevant issue, to rational anti-illegals anyway. The problems are much more complex than that, and simpler in some ways. |

I don't know if I do or not. I have better manners than to ask anyone if they're legal or not.
And to the rest of it, no. From everything I've heard, they are people who work their *sses off trying to build a better life for themselves and their families. They send their children to school to get an education and make something of themselves.
This is exactly what this nation was built on. And yes, I know there's a difference between legal and illegal. But why does the government make it so damn hard for Mexicans to come here legally? |

You never know. I know I live in Southern California. There are a lot of people in my neighborhood that don't speak English. I don't ask anyway. Besides whenever I say hello they don't understand me. LOL
I saw this lady today pushing her baby in the stroller. It was 80' and she was wearing a sweater. I asked her if she was hot. She said no English, So I gestured to her sweater and the sun and started fanning myself. I asked again she said yes hot. I see her all the time walking. My daughters school is about 44% Hispanic. |

I sure do. Every one I've met is just fine, but that doesn't mean there aren't bad apples. The fact that some people want to forbid us from taking measures to keep more violent criminals out of the country strikes me as totally insane. |

i get your point PANCHA. If we looked at the problem at a case by case basis, then the problem is sad, and who would want to force these people to go back? But if we look at the problem as a whole, and look at the long term affects, the outcome is grave.
I know some people who I assume are illegal, although I don't know for sure, because that's a weird conversation starter. "Hey how was your day? By the way, are you here legally?" "no se senior" |

Every person for illegal immigration needs to compensate these innocent people who have had their social security numbers and identities stolen by these illegals who invade our country with no care who they hurt. They should have to not only compensate the money lost from their social security accounts after they are zeroed out once the fraud is detected, but every last cent the victims had to pay taking time off work, every cent that went into photocopying documentation, every cent that went towards lawyers and gas driving somewhere to get this mess taken care of, and any other financial expenditure the victim had to cough up. They should also be forced to compensate the victims for the emotional hardships endured. They should have to compensate for the money and time spent trying to straighten out their credit ratings after these illegals have ruined them. They should be forced to compensate these victims for every single hardship related to what these illegals have inflicted upon these people. Currently, the system does not provide any compensation at all and a lot of people are never restored to previctimization status. Oh but these pro-illegals claim that illegal immigration is a victimless crime that hurts no one and that we are whining when we complain.
You think these illegals care that they are hurting innocent lives? Their loyalty is to Mexico. They proved that during one of the first rallies when they took down the American flag, hung up the Mexican flag, and then hung the American flag upside down underneath it. THAT is how they feel about America.
http://michellemalkin.com/archives/004869.htm
Then the people who want to appease them pull out the excuses about how people who are not even alive now, and haven't been for hundreds of years, 'stole' the land from the American Indians. Even American politicians are carrying out this traitorous attack on our sovereignty! If this keeps up, the United States of America will become a 3rd world country, just like Mexico! Mexico's problems are not the fault of Americans, but they are becoming our problems because the Mexicans are invading us and bringing their problems with them.
The illegals make up about 5 % of the work force. The unemployment rate is about 4.5%. Keep in mind that the unemployment rate does NOT represent everyone who is unemployed. It only counts those who are collecting unemployment. Everyone else's plight is ignored. The unemployment rate if everyone was counted would be tremendous. We do NOT have a shortage of labor, we have a large surplus. The more illegals that come in and take our jobs at minimum wage or less (often less) puts more and more Americans out of a job. Most of these Americans are never counted in the unemployment rate if they do not manage to get unemployment benefits. Unemployment benefits are hard to receive.
Illegals draw welfare by stealing people's social security numbers and identities. That means there are a lot of people being directly hurt by these people as well. Innocent people are having their credit ratings ruined, having IRS problems, and social security problems. If someone who has had their social security number stolen gets married, if either spouse dies or become disabled then they can be denied their benefits.
My family moved to the US before WWII. Those of my family that didn't make it over got killed by the death camps. Our family assimilated to the American culture. We didn't expect the Americans to change to suit us. The illegal immigrants from Mexico are not civilized like that.
They not only changed the National Anthem to Spanish, they changed the words. They already burn our flag and hang our flag upside down. They waved the Mexican flag during a lot of their protests. Some schools have stopped hanging the American flag and forbidden students from wearing clothes with any part of the American flag on their clothing all to keep from offending the Mexicans. It's nothing short of an attack of our country, not only by the illegal aliens, but those who seek to appease them.
I am tired of the stereotype that Americans wouldn't do the work that illegals do. Illegals do all kinds of jobs for less than minimum wage which drives the wages down for U.S. citizens. Construction jobs are an example. There are lots of illegals doing construction jobs that Americans used to do because the companies can keep more of the profits if they pay less for the workers. All that does is make companies wealthier and Americans poorer. Illegals are stealing jobs that Americans have done for years.
"Mexico is waging war on the U.S. through mass immigration illegal and legal, through the assertion of Mexican national claims over the U.S., and through the subversion of its laws and sovereignty, all having the common end of bringing the southwestern part of the U.S. under the control of the expanding Mexican nation, and of increasing Mexico’s political and cultural influence over the U.S. as a whole.
Cultural imperialism
We experience Mexico’s assault on our country incrementally—as a series of mini-crises, each of which calls forth ever-renewed debates and perhaps some tiny change of policy. Because it has been with us so long and has become part of the cultural and political air we breathe, it is hard for us to see the deep logic behind our “immigration problem.” Focused as we are on border incursions, border enforcement, illegal alien crime, guest worker proposals, changes of government in Mexico City, and other such transient problems and events—all of them framed by the media’s obfuscation of whether or not illegal immigration’s costs outweigh its benefits and by the maudlin script of “immigrant rights”—we don’t get the Big Picture: that the Mexican government is promoting and carrying out an attack on the United States.
Another reason we miss what’s happening is that our focus is on the immigrants as individuals. Thus our leaders talk about illegal immigrants as “good dads,” “hard working folks” seeking to better their lives and their family’s prospects. In fact, this is not about individual immigrants and their families, legal or illegal. It is about a great national migration, a nation of people moving into our nation’s land, in order to reproduce on it their own nation and people and push ours aside.
Thus, in orchestrating this war on America, the Mexican state is representing the desires of the Mexican people as a whole.
What are these desires?
(1) Political revanchism—to regain control of the territories Mexico lost to the U.S. in 1848, thus avenging themselves for the humiliations they feel they have suffered at our hands for the last century and a half;
(2) Cultural imperialism—to expand the Mexican culture and the Spanish language into North America; and especially
(3) Economic parasitism—to maintain and increase the flow of billions of dollars that Mexicans in the U.S. send back to their relatives at home every year, a major factor keeping the chronically troubled Mexican economy afloat and the corrupt Mexican political system cocooned in its status quo. "

Look I have heard your voice. Yes I do know illegals and I do know the the issues-I work for Health issues in a Social Service way. You sometimes accuse people for their opinion if it differs from your. I have never said what you just said but I do have issues with immigrations on the whole. I know that hurts but my reasons are valid (cost-effects on others-law). You feel a need to express (sometimes not the best way)how these good poor hard working people need help. Many do-many. Again I can not hurt to help. You might not like a work program(I doubt it will be the best-but that is another issue)but I see this as only fair to those here who also need help. I wish we could help all but we can not do it. You see things as you would like them to be and I see things as they are. I feel a work program is best (you want more-who doesn't). But understand there are poor here and they are fighting for their life's-Medical-food the basics. Programs take from them and the flood of immigrants have caused a strain. Maybe where you are you do not see this. But 27% live in poverty just American citizens (thats right no food homes health heat even schools). That is increasing each month (not year now). To add more who will be part of that poor is a double whammy. There needs to be a way to help and not hurt (hurt an a physical way-not feelings).Try walking both lines and see. |

I've known MANY,through my job!! And EVERY ONE of them were living on WELFARE!!!!! They ALL lived in low-income housing, received food stamps,AFDC (aid for dependent children) all PAID for by the TAXPAYERS!!And ALL the women were PREGNANT when they came here!!! They DELIBERATELY came here pregnant,so they could drop their "anchor babys',and get to STAY because of their kids!! (PERSONALLY, i think that law SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHANGED years ago!!!!!!!) So, OF COURSE they had their kids,PAID for by the TAXPAYERS!!! Is it ANY WONDER that the American Taxpayer is SICK AND TIRED OF ILLEGALS!!! |

Yes. I had one the other day.. Who I gave a ride to and he put his seat belt on real quick. When I asked him why, he said he didn't want to get pulled over because he had no papers. When I dropped him off, he asked me if I would pay him for his Texas card.. His welfare card.. He had $120.00 worth of food on it and he would sell it for $50.00.. I reported him and his family.. I hope they get sent back!! |

I am certain they are NOT all bad, sponging etc. However, a bunch are. I doubt those are the ones YOU know. Our prisons are full of them, though. Those are the ones I think we should deport. |
