Mexico most definitely DID NOT cede Texas to the US. Texas won her independence from Mexico in April of 1836 because President Santa Anna failed to live up to the terms of the Constitution of 1824.

Most of the people who fought and died in the Texas Revolution were Mexican citizens. The majority of Texas' citizens - both Anglo and Hispanic alike - supported the Texans fight for independence.

Texas was an independent Republic for ten years before joining the United States in 1846.

Interestingly, when Texas won independence and joined the United States ten years later, Texas territory extended all the way up into Colorado. Do the illegal immigrants plan to recapture Colorado in their laughable plan to regain AztlÃ¡n???

I would be happy to give them a state if the ILLEGALS would ALL go there, but they want a free ride from Americans.

Yeah we did. President Polk invaded Mexico and took the land that the public demanded. Then we felt guilty and paid Mexico millions for it.

What do you think war is about? It is to take or control more territory than you have. To the victor goes the spoils. Do you think the people rose up and accused Nebuchadnezzar of stealing the world? Did anyone have the temerity to accuse Alexander the Great of stealing their land? I think not. The biggest army controls the territory. Period. Nothing changes that.

Hah. I totally and completely agree with you. Texas seceded; they can't just take us back! And I'd like to see a bunch of Mexicans/Hispanics try to take on a few good ol' Texas cowboys... don't know any that are actually dumb enough to try, though.

If you have an interest in this subject, I would suggest that you read some books about the history of Mexico,and about the history of the American Southwest. Then you will have enough information to reach your own conclusions and not rely on the biased opinions of others.

No, of course no one would believe that stealing story. Actually, the so called "Mexico Cession" (currently southwestern United States) was ceded to the US in 1848 under the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo following the Mexican- American War. The cession of this territory from Mexico was a condition for the end of the war. The US also paid $15,000,000.00 for the land which was the same it had offered prior to the war. This region includes the current State of California, Nevada and Utah with portions of:
1) Arizona excluding the region later annexed in the
Gadsden Purchase.
2) Colorado west of the boundary of the former Republic of
Texas.
3) New Mexico west of the Rio Grande and excluding the
Gadsden Purchase.
4) Wyoming west of the former Republic of Texas boundary
and south of the 42nd parallel.
As to Texas, it was already an existing sovereignty, the Republic of Texas, and voluntarily be annexed to th US in 1845.

Weather we bought it, won it , stold it or what ever. That is history and it's US territory now. There is no going back. Mexico will never get any of our states back including California! They can't even run their corrupt country, what makes you think they will know what to do with any other land??????

Even if we had stolen it, I don't understand the whole point of the argument. These people are saying not that they or their ancestors ever even lived here, but that their ancestors lived in the same country as the ancestors of some people who lived here.

The people who lived here, of course, became Americans and are part of the group from whom the outsiders are trying to take the land back.

So... If a guy in Liverpool wants to take back Boston, he'd have a claim?

I mean, this is totally apart from the fact that what they want to take is the infrastructure and 'country' we built on the land, not the land, or why not stay in Mexico? They have land, too. If this were part of Mexico, they wouldn't want to be here.

We did not steal anything the dirty politicians from MEXICO sold the land for a cheap price. Is it our fault that MEXICO has always and will always have dirty politicians? NO UNTIL ALL THE ILLEGALS IN THIS COUNTRY GO BACK AND PROTEST THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT NOT A SINGLE THING WILL CHANGE. Mexico has the capability to be a powerful and rich country but the thieves of Mexico wont let it be, and the ignorant illegals instead of protesting over there they come to a country that does not belong to them and request things that they should be requesting to their own government.

Nobody stole anything; the US defeated Mexico in the war, and Mexico ceded Texas and California to the US.

Why don't you ask the Mexican Government who they stole Mexico from. Mexicans are of European origin also, Spain and France settled Mexico and killed off and relocated the Indians just like the USA. If you want to use history to support the Atzlan theory continue back for a few hundred more years. It all belongs to the Aztecs if you buy into the dogma.
