I think you already know...but here goes...
I support the illegal immigrants because our immigration laws are messed up, because we have become an exclusive resort. All other countries are inclusive, we discriminate against people due to the amount of money they have...and sadly the economies of other countries are not great. |

i don't support breaking the law, so i argue with how you frame this question.
let me say, i think our immigration policies are unrealistic and the changes proposed do not address that fact. people who stare into the desert with an aquafina and two kids and say, "yeah i can make it" will not be dissuaded by a wall... |

I am pro amnesty.....The reason is, I have been to Mexico's shanty towns and I have seen how these people live....They have no running water, electricity or heat....Many live in cardboard boxes.....I have seen orphaned throw away children living off the city dump and eating the rotting food to fill there bellies.....I know we will never cure world hunger and many other nations live like this as well....That having been said, Mexico is our neighbor and we should help them.....Perhaps I have helped you understand why I support amnesty..... |

This is a hard topic for me, it's hard not to be compassionate towards the families that are only trying to provide their kids with a better life, but we have to reinforce our laws. Along with those genuinely good people, plenty of criminals are coming in and terrorizing our communities. It's not fair for us to be lacking resources and having to pay taxes to keep those illegal criminals in our jails. I think for those who can prove that they have been working and are good citizens, they should get the test to become legal citizens. There's no denying that they are willing to do the jobs you and I are not willing to do. In the end, our laws should be reinforced and they should get in line for their citizenship the right way. Let's not forget that Mexicans are not the only illegal aliens here, there's Cubans, Dominicans, Asians, Russians..etc,.. |

Our country's economy can't support them all. It's not good for the economy or fair to us taxpayers but as a Christian person, I do feel bad for them. Their country must be pretty bad for them to risk life and limb to come here. |

I am for legal immigration, but having been born to illegal immigrants (long, long ago) I can understand and have compassion for both sides of the argument. |

It's been said many times. All of us in America have immigrant background. The problem here and now is the sheer numbers. Our social bank has been drained to death. And more on the way. I am against Illegal immigration. My great, great Grandparents came her from Germany 1826. They did it Legal.. |

aGAINST!! THE PROBLEM IS THAT PEOPLE SHOULD STOP COMPLAINING AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. STOP BEING LAZY ; START WORKING AS HARD AS THEY DO AND GIVE A PROPER COMPETITION AND GET THEM OUT HE RIGHT WAY. ALL THESE LAZY PEOPLE WILL SUFFER WHEN THERE IS NO ONE TO HELP THEM OUT. BUILDING A WALL IS NOT A SOLUTION. *52 % OF THE ILLEGALS ARE HERE ON EXPIRED VISAS..MEANING THEY CAME IN LEGAL AND NEVER LEFT WHAT'S A WALL GONNA DO??? PEOPLE NEED TO GET REALISTIC THAT'S ALL. BUT ALL SAID AND DONE I AM AGAISNT-BUT PEOPLE NEED TO FIND SOLUTIONS NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT...WHAT'S NEXT PEOPLE ARE GOING TO SUE??? C'MON LET'S GET OUR AMERICAN PRIDE BACK!! |

The word, "illegal", says it all. I support deportment of illegal aliens. If they want to live in the U.S.A., let them come in through the proper channels and apply for citizenship.
Addendum: Someone up the line said that they support illegal immigration because they have seen the shanty towns in Northern Mexico.
So have I. I have also seen the shanty towns in the U.S.A., the homeless camps under highway and railroad overpasses, the 'derelicts' freezing cold on a winter's night trying to find a steaming grate to sleep on.
I should feel sorry for Mexicans who have come here illegally when there are _citizens_ and U.S. military _veterans_ living in worse squalor than those do in Mexico?
I hate that anyone has to live like this, but the nonsense has to stop somewhere. Let Mr. Fox or whoever is El Presidente this week take care of his own. There is plenty of oil in Mexico territory. Let them spend some of their profits on their own poor. |

Big time supporting immigration. As you can tell people is not against Illegal immigrants, as of matter of fact you can not tell who is legal and who is not. People that keep claiming Anti-illegal are just people that HATE immigrants in general and nobody in his right mind should be supporting that. |

I do not support illegal immigration, from the word itself "illegal" I can't be a part of something against the law. However, theare are legal ways to stay in here, why can't they just go through that course. I find it so unfair for people who went through all those beureaucracy and then here comes a new guy going ahead of the line. |

I'm against illegal immigration, simply because the illegal immigrats are taking the American's jobs, and there isn't enough jobs now to help Americans support their families. The immigrats will work cheaper than Americans,so who do you think the Employers will hire? Also crime rate has increased since allowing them to come into U.S,and I don't think they are even taxed on their earnings within U.S. |

against- hello??? what part of ILLEGAL don't people understand.
it is a huge drain on our country's finances, jobs, social services, educational and medical services- wasted on people who are coming here illegally and that flat refuse to assimilate- hah! not to mention the miles of tape, paper, and time that is wasted by everything having to be in spanish.
I am not against immigration, there are plenty of people that come here legally, they make an effort to learn the language and to share in the culture..yes share, give and take, ones that pay taxes and have a vested interest in their trades and communities, ones that help pay for social services..not just drain them. I just can not stand the illegal immigrants- to me they are no better than bullies.
and as an edit- yes 1/4 of my ancestors came here from ireland and scotland- in the very early 1800's - the other 3/4 of my ancestors have always been here- choctaw, tsalagi |

Idon't mind the hyspanics / latinos' at all, but if they are going to live here they should be required to learn english, become citizens of the USA, and pay taxes. It's only fare. Why should they or any other refuge come to our country make money to send home and us foot the bill for their earnings. I work hard for a living and I do not think it is fair for my taxes to go up every year due to our country footing the housing, financial, and medical bills for someone who is not even a resident of this country and not paying taxes. If I went and tried to get some of the goverment funding that these people are able to get, they would laugh me right out of the office. I'm sorry if I seem hard nosed, but I would like for my Social Security to mean something by the time I retire. Right now it won't even bury you and it's due to our government of bleeding heart liberals. |
