I am probably in the minority here but I say no. The Border Patrol are law enforcement officers. They tried to cover up what happened by not reporting it and got caught. Do I think that the drug dealer should have been given amnesty to testify no I don't and giving amnesty to testify should be looked at hard and long. It was an abuse of power. It should be investigated and if the attorney is found to have overstepped some rule then they should be prosecuted. BUT I don't think that any law enforcement officer should be allowed to break the laws they are suppose to be enforcing. They are paid a decent salary and have a stressful job if they can't do the job or become burned out then they need to change jobs. You don't get a free ride because the cause is popular. Illegal means just that against the law. They more than anyone else should know the law. If we disagree with the law then it needs to be changed but firing your weapon at someone in a high speed chase and then not reporting it is illegal. |

Yes. The Border Patrol agents were just doing their jobs and trying to protect this country. The drug smuggler got immunity. What kind of message are we sending? Illegal aliens can smuggle drugs, but anyone who tries to stop them goes to jail? |

Why would they need a pardon? They were doing their job. In fact, they should be commended for preventing drugs from entering the US. All drug dealers should be shot. Twice. |

I do think that Bush should pardon the Border Patrol agents. They were doing their job...Why should they be punished? |

Yes, without a doubt. They were convicted solely on the word of a known drug dealer. The drug dealer was re-arrested for the same thing before the trial date and the charges were again dropped.I am not going to judge their procedure because I was not there. They are not bad cops. |

They should have shot him several times. Dead men tell no tale. Pardon them and promote them and give them a medal for community service. All drug dealers should be shot and Mexican drug dealers should be shot twice. What is wrong with the system anyway. It is set up with too many loopholes and deals. |

Yes he should. I don't know how likely it is, but they definitely deserve a pardon. They should not be punished for doing their jobs. |

president bush should not only pardon them-but give them a medal as well!!-think of the families that have been saved due to the actions of these two gentlemen. |

Yes. But they should also shoot all the drug-addict teenagers whom the drug dealer was working so hard for. |

This is a complex question that enough facts are not presented to make a determination. Was the dealer firing on the agents? Did the dealer fail to halt? Our officers have to make a split second decision that involves their own and our national safety.
That does not mean that due process of law should be eliminated. |

The question is - Why on Earth did the Agents get into bother in the first place - Its like banging your head off the wall doing jobs like this - what were they supposed to do to the Drug Dealer - give him a Welcome to America pack and give him a lift into town.. |

If they were convicted, yes, he should. They were doing their job, and protecting America, and it's people, as they were hired to do. If anyone deserves a prison sentence, it is the illegal alien who broke the law. |
