I think that if a child is born here to illegal immigrants, that child is also an illegal immigrant. We can't keep the baby and put the Mother and Father out of the country. We we could but hopefully we aren't that callous. I think that if the parents are here illegally the baby should forfeit its citizenship. It had no choice, but the pareents did, and chances are they came to this country to give automatic citizenship to a child. In most foreign countries I may be able to buy a house, but as a non-citizen of that country I am never allowed to own property. Our nation is primarily owned by Corporations or individuals of foreign soil. In Mexico, it is illegal to hire an American. What a wonderful way to be sure that all of your own people get work, and to keep people from overrunning your country. |

I think it's a bad thing that should be changed. The child should have the citizenship of whatever country the parents came from. The drain on the economy by illegals and their families in astronomical and needs to stop. |

No. The fruit from the poison tree. If evidence in court is gathered illegaly, it is thrown out. I think that this is almost the exact same thing. |

Sure, if the parents are willing to leave it when they get deported.....
Anchor baby's, are a bunch of horse ****.

Yes.
And, Ricky, aren't you one of the Americans who says that the Latinos MUST learn to speak and write English? At least you're halfway there. |

No. And I would like to point out to ria_en_voz_alta, who keeps posting that we are on Mexican soil, that if this were indeed Mexico she wouldn't want to be here. It would be a filthy and poor country, with no health, educational, or financial benefits. |

I think this law needs to be changed so that only children of an American citizen can claim citizenship.
That would make more sense, and would align us with the rest of the world. |

Absolutely not. This scam has been responsible for jamming millions of illegals into our country and it has to end. |

Yes, of course. You need to look behind the selfish motives of the politicians. These are human beings we are talking about, not numbers. These people came for a better life and there is no legal way for them to come unless they are a professional like a doctor or a lawyer. They are very poor, sometimes making less than $1.00 a day. They have families on both sides of the border. What you are asking is to dehumanize them. Horrible thought. |

Absolutely. It's not the child's choice that his/her parent is illegal. If they're born here, they're citizens. |

Nope they were born during an illegal act- crossing the border without a pass- If osama's wife were to sneak across the border and have a kid i wouldn't want it to be an American citizen either. |

Yes I do...why would you want to take that from them? This is the Country of Freedom...no one ...was here first before any of our ancestor immigrants was..Everyone in the United States has a history of "ancestoral immigrants" except maybe the Amercian Indian... |
