Yes. With so many coming in it is very hard to keep track of any who could be a threat to national security. It is like trying to keep track of millions of pennies and one dime slips through that is discolored you may not even see it. |

99.9% are not. But if an illegal alien can get into our country so can a terrorist. Cutting down on illegals will strengthen our security |

Yes, but I think our own response to national security is a bigger threat, and because of that I am frankly more involved with the election right now than on this board.
(Yeah, so Ron Paul may not get the election, he still is a more constructive place to put my time, at the moment.)
Any time you 'ok' a populace living outside of the law, you have a group subject to manipulation by others who break the law.
Maywood used to get a lot of play here as a town where more illegals than legals live in California. There were laws in effect against giving traffic tickets because illegals might be caught without licenses, etc. They used to fly the flag of Mexico on their city hall, and put one up on the Post office during a Save our State rally there.
But you know what? Maywood residents went to Jerry Brown to get an investigation of their police department. Their sister city using the same police department didn't. (similar demographics, look into it and follow the cartel $ chain)
Those towns that 'belong' to the cartels are no longer all on the other side of the border. And yes, that is a real threat.
However, it is bigger than just illegal immigration. It is an overall question of why we aren't holding our government accountable to US as citizens, and accountable to our Constitution.
If we do that, we can fix the economy, and a lot of the pain of this topic can be eased, to begin with. |

Yes, tens of millions of uneducated people refusing to assimilate will take down any country.
Over 65% of illegal immigrants are high school dropouts and their children usually dropout also.
They also commit too much crime and are bringing our country down.
California alone spends over $10 billion yearly extra because of illegal immigrants. This year, California is facing a budget deficit of $15 billion. ( In the past California has borrowed money to cover the deficit.) This year California had to release 22,000 prisoners because there is no money to pay for the prisons. (California spends over $1 billion yearly on criminal illegal immigrants and around 50% of California prisoners are illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants create a lot of crime.)
To Cheffy: They pay little into social security (study). They cost the government far more than they contribute. Poor people always cost more than they contribute. |

You didn't really say who, If you just talking about are friends from south of the broader then no. But they are causing problems with our government and making it very costly for everyone else. If they are here illegally then they need to become US citizens and do it the right way. Thousand of others have studied and worked hard to obtain this right. People need to wake up or we all will be screwed. |

Yes, whenever you have tens of millions of people that enter ANY country without going through any type of screening, it constitutes a security threat.
You have no idea what type of criminals, terrorists, people carrying diseases, etc. are coming into the country. Not to mention the fact that they are ILLEGALLY circumventing the immigration laws of whatever country they are invading.
COMMON SENSE!! |

Yes they are because Illegal aliens are not just from Mexico or Cuba.
Most people can get into Mexico or Canada and then they could cross over into the USA.
Any terrorist would be able to get into the USA the way things are.
I think we should watch our own boarders and get out of Iraq. If we can't secure our own boarders then how can we make America safe? |
|

Micky

Yes they are. Terrorists are now paying money to mexican smugglers to get them in,we don't know who's here. Besides that diseases, drugs and mass crime is brought in with the illegals. I think we face a serious threat to our national security, sovereignty, and the well being of our citizens. |

they have been known to fly planes into tall buildings
4 of them were here illegally and the others were here on H-2A visas.
An H-2A visa is an agricultural visa....so yes, i think a back ground check is very important |

Dugh? ANY person crossing that border illegally is a threat. Whether it's Muslim terriorists.....or LaRaza reconquiestas....they both want to overthrow the government......they are both a threat., |

illegal aliens are a threat and criminals because the government makes them that way. If we give them citizenship then they will pay taxes like the rest of us. And they can go to college and get really jobs so they can contribute to the rest of society. If you dig far enough we are all immigrants and most of us were illegal at one point or another. So instead of creating criminals we should try and fix our problems instead of blaming everyone else. i know that's the American thing to do, blame the colored man but if history has taught us anything that doesn't really work. |

Yes they are, because they bring decease and rape and pillage in the U S. - they kill at will and leave to Mexico who will not help us find the murders, because we have a death penalty for murder in many of our states. I am not saying that we should go out and kill an illegal alien, but we should contact ICE when we know where they are. It is dangerous to have them here. |

They are a threat because they can commit invisible crimes. They can be a part of a hit-and-run and be untraceable. Because they're taking jobs and sending their money back to Mexico. Because Mexico WANTS them to do this, and will help them. Because they are FELONS. Because they demean American wages by accepting less. Because most of them are single, young males, not families like most people want to think. And trust me, coming from a young girl, those men can be SO perverted and scary. It's just in their culture. And give me as many thumbs down as you want, it's the TRUTH.
They are a detriment to our economy and to our security. That's it. And we just keep letting them come in with no consequences. And the liberals just don't want to hear it. |

no. you cant generalize all of them |

Tell that to the parents of this poor girl in michigan that got hit by a DWI illegal alien driver without a license. |

hey a question...are you talking about the invasion of iraq? or the one in panama few years ago?
it seems all the responses apply very well to the description of the iraq invasion.....we are there illegally, we are dangerous to them.....we are actually torturing them and killing them and meddling in their affairs, and all of these with an illegal entry based on lies, and on top of that we are not paying taxes..... |

not all of them but some yeah like the 9/11 guys but they was legal . |

I dont think so. |

I would'nt consider them as a threat because they are just trying to make a living and enjoy the good American life. I would say that they are more of a burden and a nuisance to the United States. |

No.
People hear the word "illegal" and think it's a bad thing. People who come into the country looking for better lives aren't looking to destroy the nation. From what I've seen, people in our country are just as dangerous. |

are you asking the question to american people or iraqui people?..
illegal war sounds familiar to you?
talking abou the war, more than 140 irak war veterans committed suicide in u.s every week DURING 2007... more than the U.S. CASUALTIes occurred on the same period of time..
you american are the real danger for the people in the world...
not illegal immigrants. |

I hate the way people take all of the immigrants and label them all "terrorists" or "high school drop-outs".
What about the people whos homes are getting bombed and they are forced to find somewhere else to live?
What about the people who want to find a job to feed thier family?
What about the people who want higher living standards, than they are getting? Simple things such as safety and running water
Everyone has to think before labling. SOME immigrants (a small fraction actually) cause diruption and crime, but we should deal with them, not the whole group. |

Yes, they literally take away thousands of dollars and pass them on to CEOs and their families. They also force us to pay more taxes to accommodate to them and us having to learn about their language/culture. and since they are virtually unknown, they easily can commit crimes and felonies without being caught or tracked easily. They are a threat to the very lives of every person in America that is a U.S. Citizen |

no because they only come to work |

No,but I think the "antis" are a threat because they are so obsessed with illegal immigration, that they don't have a clue what's really going on with all the true terrorists! |

Immigrants are not a threat to National security !
Name one act of Terrorism committed by the Undocumented from Mexico against the United States,
The person that said they fly planes into tall buildings, Hey those were Islamic Terrorist ,That came into the country legally (or as you would say the right way),
You have more to fear from your own homegrown Terrorist, Timothy Mcvey, Terry Nichols, Randy Weaver, Eric Rudolph, David Koresh and the young boy next door planning to shoot up his school!
Those are not figments of the imagination but real live terrorist.
We will not even go into John Wayne Gacy, Jeffery Dahmer, Ted Bundy.
You need to worry about where the real threat is from. |

Look, the illegal immigrant thing is like a broken water valve.
You can't shut it off. You can't deport the ones that have already flooded the place. All the politicians can hope for is to appease their constituents with words, and pass legislation under the cover of night to make them legal.
It's alllllllllllll about the money folks. I am not talking about labor cost. I am talking about SOCIAL SECURITY AND AN AGING POPULATION OF BABY BOOMERS AND $70+Trillion of outstanding promises that have no way of being met financially with our current or future economy, because our native born are not increasing at a rate that will sustain the future demand for money.
They are throwing towels down on the flood, and the water is going to continue to come out because everyone knows what happens when you shut off the water main to fix the broken valve... Water is the essence of life. No water, no life.
Yes, they pay into social security. You gotta have a fake SSN to get a real job as an illegal, so they pay into it, and will reap no reward for doing so.
Issues like this are going to make us look like Saudi Arabia in the next generation. The ruling class barely holding on to law and order... |
