It is one of the biggest problems on the US economy. To the tune of a $330 billion drain last year alone.
CA is on the verg of Bankruptcy because of ILLEGAL INVADERS, $14 Billion in the hole last year because of them. |

Illegal criminals are a problem for lots of countries, including this one. "Xenophobia" has nothing to do with it.
Perhaps the U.S. could learn some lessons from these "xenophobes".
http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/060815a.aspx
MEXICO CITY, Mexico - For the past month, America's attention has been focused on the Middle East war. During that time, another 300,000 illegal aliens have crossed America's border with Mexico. But you won't believe how Mexico treats its illegal aliens.
Illegal aliens from Mexico were allowed to march through America's cities, demanding citizenship â some even waved the Mexican flag. But illegal aliens inside Mexico, mostly from Guatemala and Honduras, are literally on the run.
Some travel by train and some hide, trying to stay one step ahead of the Mexican Federal Police.
The Mexican government was outraged by the movement to build a new wall on America's southern border. Mexico's Foreign Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez went before the cameras to protest.
Derbez said, "Mexican immigrants are not felons or terrorists. They are human beings who deserve respect and the opportunity to live with dignity."
But in Mexico, when it comes to the treatment of its illegal aliens it's, âDo as I say, not as I do.â
Mexico has called U.S. immigration policy "harsh," and has called the proposed wall on the U.S. Mexico border "shameful." But some have called the Mexican immigration policy "hypocritical."
Enter Mexico illegally and you're treated as a felon. If you're caught by the Federal Police, you'll be fortunate if you're only deported immediately. The unfortunate are robbed, abused, raped, or even murdered by corrupt police officers.
Fernando Aguilar Neri coordinates Red Cross efforts to help illegal aliens in Mexico.
âWhen people approach us, they are usually fearful that we work with the government and are afraid of being reported,â said Neri. ââŠOne of the seven principles of the Red Cross is complete neutrality and independence, so we can't cooperate with the Mexican government on the illegal alien issue.â
Neri says that most illegals moving through Mexico try to avoid the cities.
The Catholic Church also shields illegal aliens from the Mexican government. CBN found two shelters for illegals in Mexico City, but weren't allowed inside.
Most of the Central Americans inside are on their way to the United States. They'll be fortunate if they arrive unharmed.
One immigrant from El Salvador said, "If you are carrying any money, the police take the money and then say, get out of here."
"We still have 20 days of travel (to reach the United States)," another one said.
But if you're a Mexican wanting to enter the U.S. illegally, then you can count on the Mexican government's help and support. It even has a special department called Grupos Beta that helps Mexicans cross the U.S. border illegally.
But in an interview with CBN News, the head of Mexico's Immigration Service, Hipolito Treviño, denied it.
âGrupos Beta is the Mexican government initiative which does not help people cross the border, but they do assist them when they have problems in the border area,â Trevino said.
But Grupos Beta gives them a booklet, which includes tips on how to safely cross the U.S border. Trevino denied the allegation that immigrants are also given maps by the government.
âNo maps,â he said. âWe give them recommendations about the dangerous animals they'll encounter, how much water they need every day, what to do in case they get lost, what to do in case they get detained by the border patrol, which paths are dangerous because of crime.â
The reason for the government's help? The cash sent home by Mexicans in the U.S. constitutes the second biggest source of foreign currency in Mexico after the oil industry. Last year that was $20 billion, or 2 percent of Mexico's GDP.
About 10 percent of Mexico's population is now living in the United States, thatâs over 10 million people. And how many illegal aliens in its own country has Mexico legalized in the past five years? Just 15,000.
The Mexican government may think a new wall on the U.S. border is offensive, but critics are saying far worse things about Mexico's immigration policy. |

some hospitals are closing or have to get money from he government.prisons being overfilled, more tax dollars for larger prisons.more crime on the streets. more taxes for more police
schools over crowded, more taxes for more teachers
social services, more taxes there.housing market down
illegals are flooding the construction trades. and they are not the ones buying most of the homes that are built. at 300% interest
alot of these illegals have to pay back the coyotes that brought them here. so for awhile not much money is staying
here most is shipped back for more to come here
you hear some just want to live in mexico happy and content. they don't even plan on staying here but to help themselfs then leave when they have soaked up every resourse possible
thats why they don't care about laws.they want to be american
only when it suits their needs |

A major problem! There are reasons we have a way to enter this country legally! If our government decides to give all the millions of illegals amnesty, they would be eligable for social programs like social security, medicare, medicaid that come from the workers of this country who have payed taxes here there whole lives! We are deep in debt now, and the money for social security has been used by our government for other expenses and we don't have a solution for providing the social security for those who have been putting in to that their whole lives! So now we are suppose to bring in all these people and make them eligable for all these same programs? It is not fair to those who have worked there entire lives and put their money in and may not get their own money back! It is not fair to the individuals whom immagrate legally and go through the procedures our country has set in place for many reasons! I am not opposed to the Mexican people in any way, they are a good hard working people, who regard family highly and are God fearing. I myself have Spanish blood in my veins among other nationality's but I love this country and I think our founding fathers were enlightened and I do not want to see devation from who we are and why this country was founded! Our Constitution is written in English and we have a very meaningful heritage that should never be lost, we need to preserve it! Immagrants need to assimalate to this countrys soul, we do not need to change for all those who want in! |

not really, I think that our own Government is a big problem of the economy. Someone on Yahoo Answers had a really good question the other day. He asked, Why doesn't the government force those who receive unemployement and welfare to have to work on farms and do labor that the Mexicans are doing?
It only stands to reason that if you come to my house and ask for money, I'm going to show you my dirty backyard, the trees need trimming, the bathroom needs cleaning etc.. and I'm going to tell you that I will pay you 10 bucks an hour to clean it up!! So, why doesn't our government force people to have to clean up the community , clean up city parks, plant trees in the mountains, clean up graffiti...ect.???
All the cheap labor that the Mexicans do should be getting done by Americans who receive wellfare |

It is a part of the entire issue. If there are more individuals in this nation taking than giving, then it tends to make the money run out faster, right? At least that is the logic of the thing. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzFwCdE1OTs
www.odom2008.com/
www.odom2008.com/how.html to fix it
Itâs time for some common sense
"Calling an illegal alien and undocumented immigrant is like calling
a drug dealer a undocumented pharmacist."
People we stand on the edge of a true precipice. This problem is
negativity affecting our Economy, our Way of life and hurting our middle class families the most. You want our Economy fixed, Fix this problem and the economy will heal itâs self. Once we are no longer supporting 20 million non tax-paying Illegal aliens, who are stressing every aspect of our infrastructure, our cost of living, our wages etc.. If this continues we will probably have to adjust our
taxes necessary to maintain our communities.
Today's politicians donât understand this Problem, since they do not live like the middle class, and are to beholden to big business and lobbyist not the people that elected them, that just wrong. Also with their millions in the bank and big houses. They don't know what is like to lose a job. That is why we need an outside view in Washington. When I Look at the current campaigns of the current candidates and I am most certain that they will do nothing about this problem even though there lot talk about it. And we will continue to
suffer as a result.
We must realize that are success as country means keeping our jobs and protecting our citizens. If we canât not do this and protect the foundation on which all is built we will fail to be a nation.I think that is not an option and unnecessary. So we must solve this problem know then this economic uncertainly will dramatically decline.
I have seen first hand what illegal immigration can do, and watched my hometown get destroyed from this unfettered invasion of illegal immigrants. I also remember what America (and my home town) was like before these poor excuses for leaders gave it away. Please help me make it right again.

Yes , Illegal immigration is a big problem,
Ive also noted here that people report that 30% of the nations debt is attributed to operating military installations in friendly countries across the world and fighting a war in two other countries has to be draining the economy.
There are several issues posing a big problem for the economy . |

No, if fact I think (and know) just the opposite.
How people think that removing 10 MILLION workers from our economy would improve it is beyond belief. It requires a total lack of basic economic understanding and common sense to believe this notion. |

Yes and no,
YES:
It hurts the Americans whom used to make a living in construction and other trades by being sold out for cheaper labor " Note: Jobs that Americans were doing", thus lowering general labor costs and affecting American jobs and less income to support their family, the business owners make more money.
These illegals tend to live more families than 1 per household, thus lowering the standard of living to work cheaper and destroying the American dream.
They also send a large portion of their money back to Mexico (Mexico's second largest source of income) and it does not go back in our economy, thus hurting it.
They drain our social services through education, health-care, food, and other programs giving to the children of the illegals, which also gets used by the parents, thus reducing funds to our services from taxes, that could be in our pockets and stimulating the economy.
For those whom think they only do farm work, you must not realize there has ALWAYS been programs for which immigrants come here on a work visa to tend the fields, and go back home after the season ends. Illegals are working in Plants, Mills, Construction, Landscaping, etc... All JOBS AMERICANS WERE DOING BEFORE THEY ARRIVED. They are working for 1/2 the wages as the American Workers were working, eventually forcing the Americans out.
NO:
In theory, our economy is better off because we get goods and services cheaper, while the Business makes more money, however, the long term effect is lower standards of living because wages are being broken down, and people will not have the money to spend (except the select, rich, few) Higher taxes to support all the government handouts, higher costs to operate the government and a total failure if not left unchecked. |

The costs of infrastructure to support illegals does not outweigh the benefits of $40 per day labor.
Without them, the American economy would collapse, construction would grind to a halt, and hotel rooms would be filthy.
If you think they are taking *your* job, you didn't apply yourself very well in the free education system that other hard-working americans provided for you. |

We have assimilated over 12 million people whom we have yet to identify. Astoundingly, despite our failure to prevent their crossing the border, our failure to know where they are, what they do . . .none of them has yet been involved in a terrorist act.
Are they taking jobs away from the rest of us? The Americans with whom they compete--unskilled, poorly educated, probably do lose jobs to them simply because corporate America wants them to remain undocumented, without any rights, so that they can be exploited--low wages, no insurance, terrified of displeasing their employers in any way.
Most of our losses of jobs, our loss of our manufacturing base, our loss of our can-do American leadership in innovation have nothing to do with undocumented aliens. They are the result of deliberate policy of an American government in thrall to corporations so wealthy and so powerful that they have become the government.
Merger upon merger upon merger has resulted in companies so large that intense competition has become a thing of the past. The "free market" of which we hear is now the market owned and controlled by trans-national companies and mammoth farm cooperatives soaking in hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars in wasted subsidies.
Are illegal immigrants a big problem, or are they the scapegoats used to distract us from the real problem because they are different and they cannot stand up for themselves, and because few politicians and even fewer representatives of the media will stand up for them ? |
