Do you think illegals in this country will suddenly begin obeying our country's laws?

Illegal aliens kill more US citizens each year than the war in Iraq has killed in four years. Apologists for illegal immigration like to paint it as a victimless crime. But in fact, illegal immigration causes substantial harm to American citizens and legal immigrants, particularly those in the most vulnerable sectors of our population--the poor, minorities, and children. Additionally, job competition by waves of illegal immigrants willing to work at substandard wages and working conditions depresses the wages of American workers, hitting hardest at minority workers and those without high school degrees. Illegal immigration also contributes to the dramatic population growth overwhelming communities across America--crowding school classrooms, consuming already limited affordable housing, and straining precious natural resources like water, energy, and forestland. Taxpayers are being forced to pay for the free health care, education, and other welfare programs being given to illegal aliens; Those tax dollars could be given back to U.S. taxpayers or used to keep our borders secure; They may be here illegally, but they sure know how to "work the system" to collect "free" medical care, "free" education, "free" food, Section 8 housing vouchers and other housing assistance, and hundreds of other social services. It costs citizens additional hundreds of billions of tax dollars at every level: local, state, and federal. It gobbles up billions of our charitable contributions. And much of that money ends up siphoned out of our economy and into offshore accounts. Illegal aliens, over half of whom work "under the table" with neither job nor income reported (nor taxed), are not counted as employed or unemployed. But some of those day-labor and off-the-books "job-lets" would be "real" jobs - available to American citizen job-seekers - if employment regulations were enforced. Illegal aliens can get away with tax evasion, et al., which citizens cannot. In short, we have too many workforce entrants and too few jobs created. The ratio works out to roughly 7-10 workforce entrants per job created. If all illegal aliens depart or are deported, all legal immigration halted, and all temporary employment visas abolished, we still have a problem with more US-born workforce entrants than new jobs created. Illegal immigration damages our country and our citizens every day at every level. And not even the attacks of 2/26 and 9/11 have awakened many Americans to the vast dangers illegal immigration poses to our selves, our families, our communities, our society, our values, our principles, our civilization. Zero Tolerance for Immigration-Law Violators! We must remember the lessons of 2/26, 9/11, and the costs we bear every single day. God Bless the U S A !

Well they are not currently obeying the laws so if you use a logical thought process I would have to say that our laws mean nothing to illegal aliens and no the laws will not be obeyed OR enforced. Everything will remain the same with the taxpayers becoming more and more frustrated.

That $ 5000 fine is already being taken out, I read that Mel Martinez one of the architects is going to ask that it be reduced or eliminated. Also in this bill they dropped the clause that required back taxed be paid. Hold on to your wallet when Ted Kennedy starts smiling

Illegals don't obey the laws at all. I read the news and besides the illegal act of merely entering this country illegally and refusing to leave,they constantly commit other crimes like theft,rape,murder etc. They are uncivilized animals who care nothing about law,just look at Mexico.

Even American's break laws every day just because they over stayed a visa and violated an immigration law does not mean the next day they are out speeding and robbing banks..

Amnesty is not just for border jumpers many come her legally and are forced into an overstay stautus because they have a legal right to be here such a s an american parent brother or sister, but inhumane time frames restrict them from staying legal, make an application today and maybe 20 years from now when you are old it will be processed, I would say that is enough reason to cause someone to fall into an illegal status.

P.S Make an application and at the time of 1st stage processing if you miss the interview when they call you 7 odd years later you are required to start the time frame again, you are also required to start the time frame again if there is a change on form such as an address change and you overlooked it while waiting for ever for your app to be processed.

I only say that because I live in a town of mostly illegals and that is the mentality of most of them..Some are just more hostile then others ..Some are worthy hard working abiding citizens that I can call my neighbor....

Of course they will. Once they are all legal our prisons and jails will empty out and we will have no need for police, judges or lawyers since they were the ONLY ones breaking the law.

Try asking one in a nice manner what they think of it.Most think it's fair and would happily pay the money.They don't like being afraid either.The good ones that is.I'm not saying all that are here are good but a lot aren't bad either and should at least be given a chance.The ones who still refuse to follow the law after the reform need to go and we need to make sure our borders are secure enough to keep them out for good.I'm sorry if this isn't an answer you wanted but that is what this forum is suppose to be about.Discussions from all sides right?

No, they won't start obeying our laws and rules. They come here and drain our educational and medical resources without paying taxes. They send some of their money back home.Once they're allowed to stay here they won't be happy working for the lower wages either. They're going to want what everyone else earns so we'll be stretched even more. Now after watching the news the other night in California they said the Minority is now 57 % . They can't be the Minority now because 57 % is the majority,so the white people are now the Minority. Yea for Affirmative Action ! I'm going to check that I am a minority for now on whenever I apply for a loan , job ,and school. We also need to stop printing our ballots in 7 different languages. The official language of the United States is English, let's everyone use it when living here. We do not need to translate everything for those WHO DO NOT want to learn the language. When Americans travel, other countries don't translate into English for us,we learn their language.

Most of the illegals' only crimes are only crossing the border and using fake documentation. They obey all other laws. It is because of the minority of them that they are all thrown into the same basket. Hopefully they will have to be approved before getting the Z visa, so that we only keep the hard-working, honest ones.
