There's a real simple way to fix that. Change the law giving automatic citizenship to anyone born on American soil. It should be that if the parent is here illegally, this law does not apply.

It's not just Mexicans, it's a substantial number of peoples from Central America and South America as well. While I don't necessarily agree with your stance on illegals and breaking up families, I do support creating a wall on most of the border and securing what crosses back and forth.

This is an old issue. If the goverment was going to change this, they would have already. The fact is they must be getting some benifit from illegals.

The only way you will make the borders stronger is to make it uncostworthy to the politicians to have them here.

no, it's not fair. They aren't legal, so they must be working "under the table" so they aren't paying taxes, therefore, they are leeches, living off the system. We live in a society that likes to blame everyone else for our problems. Your scenario reminds me of the burglar that breaks into a house, gets shot, then sues the owner and gets them charged with assault. We seem to decide who is right based on who files first. Those who come illegally ignore their own wrong in order to make the US seem like the bad guys for trying to send them back. It's unfortuately, the fruit of our "no-fault" society. That is, no fault of mine, it's all yours.

Hell no its not fair for me to pay for everyone elses problems. I have my own problem which I have to pay for such a insurance and food for my family and nobody helps me expect for me and my wife. We work for what we have and the government and illegal immigrants do not give us a dime of help.
Another thing is I see people on food stamps and WIC that drive Cadillac and Mercedes but they live in a roach infested run down shack but we pay for their grocery's and they pay for fancy automobiles. Is that fair. Hell no.

No, it's not fair at all. And when they protest, they make their anchor children protest with them. Using children for their plight is simply uncalled for and in my opinion, really pathetic. They must be really desperate! That's why we must end birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong. If the illegal parents do not want to separate from their children, they can take them back to their native land when they get deported.

Anyhow their kids can go back to whatever country with them, it is their choice to leave them in the U.S. with family members.

They are providing cheap labor and they make better money - more money because the US dollar is worth more -unless that situation ends - They no longer make more money and their cheap labor is not needed they will still come here.

As far as their using their children and it being their responsibility- Yes I see your argument .But they come here so that their lives can be better for their families.

I had a boyfriend that I was with for 2 yrs an illegal Mexican Immigrant.When he got deported it hurt a lot. My son has no father and their is no way for us to be together or to be a family unless I go to Mexico and I won't - I am a US. citizen. I could never dream of leaving my family and friends behind and going to another country where everyone hates me and thinks of me in lowly way.

To an above answer- If children born to illegals should not be citizens- How about this scenario for you- a child born to an illegal immigrant father and a US. citizen mother- my child is still an American citizen.

No, i do not think its fair that they do this, but you have to look at their children here. Their children are legal US citizens of the US and therefore they have as the same rights as we do. Its a little ignorant that you criticize their children. Is it the child's fault that their parents had them in the US? Do they have any control? They have as much right as any other child to receive benefits from US tax payers because they are citizens. That is the law. US tax payers paying for illegals on the other hand is wrong and i will agree with that.

in case you didn't notice....lots of things are done illegally. You smoke pot? that's illegal. Ever drinken underage? that's illegal. the fact of the matter is....Lou Dobbs have made robots of people who simply use the fact "it's illegal" as a reasoning for immigration. Don't you people see that it's a scare tactic? If illegal immigrants are sent back, the target will only move on...ie: abortion, or whatever the conservatives feel is not right in their "perfect" world. The fact that they did wrong does not excuse the rest of us from doing the right thing. Like it or not those children are Americans they have the same rights as your children do. What should we do? We can support them in the foster care system or we can help thier family stay together. We can do what is right or allow children and families to be pulled apart.
