They certainly do. But not to allow more legal immigrants, because that will not stop or even slow down illegal immigration (the only thing that would technically slow it down is to allow unlimited immigration from Mexico, and that idea is beyond ridiculous). We need a quicker less costly process for a limited number of legal immigrants each year. I think the limit should be 500,000 per year for now. We need to strictly enforce our immigration and employment laws. And we need to end birth right citizenship to children of illegal aliens. We also need to end all guest worker programs until our unemployment rate is down to acceptable levels. Even then citizens should always be given priority in hiring.

the question of immigration should be in the hands of the people. not the corrupt lying thieving government. the control of our borders should be put to a referendum. if! ...'that is' we had a democracy and not the fascist bunch of little comic hitlers we have in power at the moment. if it were put to the people the borders would have been closed five years ago. democracy in Britain is a sham. a complete lie.

U.S. border-enforcement efforts have accomplished the exact opposite of what they were supposed to achieve.

Immigrants who in the past might have returned home to build a house or start a business after a few years of work in the United States are settling permanently and bringing their families with them.

I hate to sound discouraging, but it seems a little late to address the issue.

The level of illegal immigration has actually increased since 9/11.

It's already illegal to enter the US without a visa.

And it's already illegal to hire an immigrant without a visa.

No. They need to be enforced. We already allow the most immigrants than the rest of the world. We can't let everyone in. This madness has to stop. We will never actually know if we actually need to import labor if illegals are here and are willing to work for peanuts.

Bit behind there, old fruit. Immigration is getting a points system much like the one the Aussies and Kiwi's use. If it's properly enforced; which is where the doubt kicks in, it'll stop most immigration from outside the EU to the UK.

Immigration from inside the EU we are stuck with, as it's European Law that citizens from any European Union nation have a right to live in any other European Union nation they choose. Funny that this is a concept which has been grasped by people around Europe but not in any great numbers by people in Britain.

There's a powerful likelihood myself and my missus will be heading off to New Zealand in the next year or two. That'll be two spaces extra if anyone wants them. We'll be going as skilled migrants, and believe me that makes it much, much simpler to get into a country with the population of Scotland in a much larger space.

Yes, mass immigration has to stop and they should be finding all the illegals and deporting them. The people have a right to have a say about this it's not up to the pc brigade to bleat on about it.

Of course the should as the seem to be targeting the wrong people, IE the woman form the states who's husband died after they had been here for10 years or so and was told that she had no rights to be here ,
Or so i am led to believe.
But we have the others all the rapists murders thieves,are sent to prison for x years and then not sent home to there own land why ? I hear you ask well they don't want them ether and will not let them back in.We should just send them back all of them that don't have passports or the correct documentation.

I think that much like what John Lennon sang on Imagine we should inhabit a world where boundaries and countries are irrelevant. You should be able to contribute to any economy in the world provided you have a plan while on this Earth to do something worthwhile. I also think that toasters should be voice activated, but that is a completely separate topic.

why you people complains so much about immigrants?
i know that illegal immigrants should be out! and i agree 100% but how about the others that have visa and a European passport?
most people i saw in London cleaning floors and serving ppl on restaurants were ALL immigrants...
english ppl dont wanna clean floors do they?
and most ppl answering this question are not even REAL english! i am refering to ppl born here from foreign parents or mixed races...

so you can all shut the F*ck up!
