It is hard to became a legal resident in EVERY COUNTRY! Just because we didn't screw up ours as bad as the rest of the world, you think that gives them the right to just walk over here and do whatever they want?

We ARE educated. It is the ignorant, whiny, bleeding heart robots that think that illegals should be given the prize of citizenship just because the figured out how to sneak across a national border.

what are you running away from? If your country is so miserable, maybe you should try to stay and make a difference instead of bringing your problems somewhere else. Immigrants are a huge tax on our economy. I don't mind those that come here legally, and pay the same dues as all other citizens, it's the ones that kill my cousin in a car wreck and walk away scott free because the law can't touch them that I have a problem with.

Read that and see why we are anti illegals! This is for the UK. I am not against people coming here who would benefit the country. It's harder to move here if you have no skills and don't even speak the language. I think that is fair enough. I wouldn't expect to be accepted into a country that I couldn't speak the language of or wouldn't be able to work in.

It should be hard. I'm well educated in immigration laws. It shouldn't be easy to get into the country and get citizenship, you should have to prove you deserve to be here. We already have enough natives on welfare and getting subsidized health care, we don't need any more. I work with an office full of professional and legal immigrants who share the same opinion. They came here legally, they did it the hard way, there should be no "awww I'm so sorry, are your feelings hurt that you have to go through the same thing everyone else did?". From the moment an illegal immigrant steps foot on US soil, he/she is breaking the law. Is it unfair oh my god cry me a river that there are some countries that won't accept immigrants from the USA? (Meaning a US citizen wants to move to that country) Yes, it's unfair. But what do you think will happen if a citizen of the USA goes there illegally? C'mon... you can do it.... think real hard now... They'll be sent home. **By "There", I wasn't referring to Mexico in particular. I have absolutely no desire to ever visit that country. If you had read what I had said, and had any knowledge of global immigration laws, you'd know exactly which countries I am referring to.

All of my coworkers are college graduates, and our office is one of the best structural engineering firms in the area. I'm actually the only person in this office that was born in the United States. I have no problem with them or other legal immigrants. They did it the hard way, so can everyone else.

The anti-illegals are you put it aren't uneducated, it is hard to get into this country for a reason. I want to know what prevents people from filling out some forms and waiting their turn like everyone in line is doing.

Why do illegals think they are better than the guy waiting?

I am anti-legal due to the fact , illegal immigration into this country is against the law. There are laws in place to protect the the country and also the American worker. The illegal worker is taking jobs for less pay and the American worker is suffering.

There are guidelines to be followed to come into this country - we are not anti-immigration.

How would you feel it someone turned the tables on your argument and used it to get out of drug smuggling , kidnapping or even murder? All of those are illegal activities- when is one justified ?

Illegal immigration is not a victimless crime it hurts every American in lose of jobs, rising healthcare costs , school budgets and taxes.

Thank you Anne for showing the world how much you appreciate the American work force. I was trying to be logical in my answer but that is above you. Construction is a very well paying job in this country and in Pennsylvania many workers are being replaced by illegals who will work for less.

American workers have children to feed also.

I think I'm more educated than you are on it, actually, having read your answers. You seem biased due to your husband and friends, whereas my only ax to grind is school impacts.

Your question assumes that it shouldn't be hard to come. Since we have to subsidize poor immigrants at the expense of social services for our own folks, that is a basic disagreement between us. No amount of education is going to change either of our opinions.

Until you have kids in school, perhaps.

It seems you are the one missing this very important point.

So if you would educate yourself about the fact that immigration policy is made to the benefit of the nation...not the immigrant...maybe you would change your stance and be less accepting of law breakers.

The immigration laws are a means of screening the potential citizens. If the laws were loosened, why bother having laws at all? The laws are there to control the nation's intake of immigrants, not to be an unnecessary bureaucracy.

The majority of them already know about the immigration laws. Would they consider educating the rest? Is the question. If an illegal immigrant can pay a certain amount of money to be transported across the border, why can't they buy a plane,train,or bus ticket to come here. Once here then apply for whatever they need to live in this country?

No and they don't care. They are here for the Money. They have all kinds of problems to take care of ,but the main reason they take the chance and break our laws, is that their country won't give them a decent wage or chance at a better life. They actually promote the idea and thus add to their GNP. It won't get any better until we get their homeland to take on the idea of giving their people a real chance at a better life with common living wages and benifits.

As much as I would love to believe that they would, I have tried to educate people about the facts regarding the impossibilities in getting resident status. I have found that anti-immigration people are like fundamentalists. They are uninterested in hearing the truth. They have their minds made up & anything that goes aginst what they believe is absurd. I find them to be cold, hard and unwaivering.
Keep trying to educate people is all I can tell you. I won't ever give up!

If they had any idea about immigration laws they will be upset on the government that makes it so hard to enter legally and easier to enter illegally.I never had a problem with people that come here for better life.A lot of americans can't comprehend what is to not be able to feed your kids.They don't understand but yet they judge and I bet you half of them have illegal friends but have no idea about their situation

I agree with you, it is exceptionally difficult to become a legal resident. I think we should have open borders, and extend automatic citizenship to all those currently here illegally.

FYI, I was born and raised in this country, as were all of my immediate ancestors for at least 200 years back.
