No. I think that if it were a problem, it would have been addresed decades ago, not just when they want to take people's minds off real problems. |

Absolutely. Most statistics indicate that we have 20 million illegals here, costing the US more than 70 billion dollars annually. The murder rates for them are double than US citizens. This is a problem, not our worst, but there is no reason to back down from it. |

It's a big problem in the following ways:
* Influx of workers depresses wages for american workers
* Creates burden and costs millions or billions to nation's infrastructure including schools, hospitals and health care
* Housing prices soar in areas that have large illegal immigrant population as the market is overpopulated. |

1) It's a very big problem
2) It's a problem because the illegal aliens are stealing free health care, free housing, free food stamps, and free education for their children. All of which is costing the U.S. taxpayer a fortune.
3) The problem with it is they don't belong here. They need to go back to Mexico. They are invaders. They have broken the law. |

Its not only a problem,it is a threat, how do we know terrorists havent invaded this country ,actually they have, 1/3 of prisoners are illegals that have broken the laws multiple times.Thats alot of crimminals considering there are supposed to be 20 million illegals. JUST WHAT THIS COUNTRY NEEDS AN INVASION OF PEOPLE THAT DONT EVEN WANT TO ASSIMILATE OR BECOME CITIZENS,THEY WANT WHAT THEY CAN GET FOR FREE TO SEND BACK TO THEIR COUNTRY SO WHEN THEY GET ENOUGH MONEY TO GET A LIFE IN MEXICO AT TAX PAYERS EXPENCE THEY LEAVE US THEIR DEBT.I WONDER WHY THE MEDIA HASNT ADMITTED THE REASON BANKS ARE IN TROUBLE IS BECAUSE THEY GAVE MORGAGES TO ILLEGALS AND CREDIT CARDS THEY COULDNT PAY. |

First, any thing that is illegal is a problem.
Too many people is a problem.
If you do not believe this to be a problem, give me your money. |

Yes. There are too many too poor to pay their way in taxes and the language barrier exacerbates their impact on our schools, which are failing our own children. Also, our hospitals are closing, our services we or our families will need over time are being drained, and we are subsidizing the poverty level wages paid by employers through our taxes for our failing services.
It is a huge problem. |
|

mrs_endless

yes it is a problem, a big one. The reason it is a problem is because they come here many choose not to learn our language, but yet we are forced to learn theirs. they are also using our tax money by living off the system, and popping babies out all the time. They are living off welfare, and accepting those free hand outs. At the rate they are going, there will be no social security left probably for me and I still have a little over 20 years to work, but the illegals will eat that up in no time. I have no problem with them coming here, but do it the right way. WE are being use as a free hand out country. |

yes I believe it is a huge problem, because the idea of breaking the law yet recieving government help for doing so is wrong. Taking American jobs and saying oh hey I'll do it cheaper lowers the standard for American workers. |

Yes it is a major problem. This question has been asked so many times., Look back over the previous answers and you'll get th pros and cons from both sides of the argument. |

Yes, of course it is a problem. An almost bigger problem is the liberals who scream "racist" to stop people from talking about real problems. Just because we want people who immigrate here to come here LEGALLY, speak the language, and respect our laws and ASSIMILATE, they say that is racist. We in the past have demanded that from everyone who settles here. Why is it different now? If it were lily-white European decended Canadians invading us, wreaking havoc, my opinions would be the same, so go and shut up with your stupid, "racist" crap. They are invading our country and shutting down hospitals, getting free (not really free - we have to pay for it) medical care, food stamps, etc. and some are violent, they drive down wages, etc, etc. |

Even though I hope I'm wrong.
I think you will see things like empty vans and trucks in the desert. That way our border patrol officers aren't railroaded into jail. After all without a body it's hard to press charges.
I think the ignorant are being inflamed to rise up and as an armed nation bloodshed is right around the corner.
I think our nation has to begin deporting and finally do something about immigration instead of piecemeal legislation.
Finally, I think the only way to really make a difference is to cut off the demand and allow the supply to dry up. Heavy fines and regulation of the employers until they stop hiring illegals is the way to do that. To insure that employers know they are hiring a legal worker we need a national ID card in place. No ID.. No Job. |

You may not be here to stay. The American people are waking up and starting to make a lot of noise about you (just look at the answers above and the scamesty bill that failed). Your little illegal butts aren't as safe as they used to be. You want rights but stomp on the rights of Americans. You want a better life for your families but prevent Americans from having a better life for their families by using up their tax money. You ignore their laws by going there illegally and then want their laws to protect you. You are the hypocrites and racists. You are not only a disgrace to your families and countries of origin, but you are a disgrace to the human race. You get no sympathy from me!

Is it a problem? Yes it's a problem.
How much of a problem? $70 billion / year.
Why is it a problem? Theres 20 million of them
The problem with it: Disrespect us, our laws, and bankrupt our system. |

It's a problem to an extent, but also vital to our economy. It's a very strange dichotomy. |

It is a problem, but in terms of importance it doesn't make it in the top 20 list. We have far greater issues such as incompetent administration, illegal war, national debt, terrorism, environment, devaluation of dollar, etc.,etc., etc., just to name a few.
The problem with illegal immigration is, well, it's illegal. As with anything illegal, we don't have much control of who enters the country, in what numbers and for what purposes. As the result, we get a number of criminals and a number of people who want to work the system particularly through anchor babies. |

It's a major problem because people need to stay in their own country unless visiting. If they want to come live in my country they need to learn my language and become a citizen. Why? Because that's just the way it should be. |

Are we or are we not a nation of laws? Our Nation is based on laws and we have laws for illegal immigration that are not being enforced. We have 12- 30 million illegals in our Country now who are driving wages down and replacing Americans in unskilled jobs such as agriculture to skilled jobs in the building industry. These are illegals that wish to work here regardless of the consequences to the American people and our way of life by costing billion in lost wages. The criminal illegal also cost tax payers, for instance they are costing California 750 million a year. If we do not stop illegal immigration the wages will continue to drop while inflation continues to rise. |

It a problem because we need a workers program. Illegals do not have any rights and can be exploited, if they cant call the police or complain about working or living conditions they are not safe. We want to be safe too. I want the good people that are here illegally to stay but with documentation. I have no doubt we need these people, I know my mom used to hire them in her nursing home it was because they were hard workers and very good to patients and took min. wage or a liitte above. She could not get anyone else and you cant be short on staff in alot of places, but we can have a workers program. I wish they could be elegible for the military and get full citizenship and benefits after a year or two. Our country wants to have secure borders and safety for immigrants. |

The problem resides within the U.S.A itself. What draws them to the US is work. You have these cheap people who don't want to pay minimum wage and follow labor laws so they hire illegal immigrants, be it mexicans or any other race.
Here is a prime example:
