If we properly staff our border patrols, build a wall, use sensors, remote controlled drones, and radar stations, we can slow the raging flood of illegal aliens coming over our border down to a trickle. It's not "impossible," in fact, it probably wouldn't even be all that difficult, we just haven't made the effort.

While my design is deeper and would also include a moat to prevent tunnelers and would include razor wire and electric fences your on the right path. Though the cost is steep supporting all these illegal immigrants is even more costly and while it won't stop all it sure will stop most of the illegals cold. It would not be liked by smugglers either. I'm a hardcore liberal 99.9% of the time but on this issue I'm with the republican fence builders.

I love the idea of the fence, electric or otherwise, mines or not, but the thought keeps coming to mind of the wonderfully engineered Maginot line the french built after WWI to keep the Germans out. Hitler and gang just went around it, with more modern an much more capable equipment. The fence might help, and I find it extremely valuable, but don't stop there. The french proved the stupidity of relying on fixed "fortresses" long ago. Surely we can do better than that! God Bless you.

However, I want to know why it is that every other country's problems become our problems when we can barely take care of our own people? We have a multitude of people out of work, living in or just above poverty, and we have factories closing down left and right, gas prices so high people can barely afford to get to work if they have a job, and food cost rising with the gas prices... yet we spend billions and billions of dollars on other countries.

I personally don't have a problem with immigrants legal or illegal as long as they can hold their own and we don't have to change our way of life to accomodate them, yet it seems this is what is happening... laws are being passed to make it easier for immigrants to get drivers lic when they can't even read the street signs...

Didn't at one time one would have to learn English before becoming a citizen?

Let's find a way to solve the problems of others without having to sacrafice our own.

the latest issue of popular mechanics shows the plan ... 7000+ miles of border fence along mexico and canada ... its a double fence with guard towers and several feet inbetween that will be lined with sensors and cameras .... dont forget that later on down the road if there is disaster oppression or war in the US ... there is no way out either my friend ... people worrying about an issue that will have absolutely no effect whatsofukin ever on their way or quality of life is turning this country into a national prison ... rymes right along pretty good with the other police state measures being put into place like real-id ... careful what u wish for :)

Besides, what you are asking for is morally wrong. God made people, and He made land and gave the land to the people. He didn't make countries. What gives you the right to say that they can't have what God gave them solely because they weren't born between two arbritrary lines?! America was founded on humans getting the rights God gave to them, and now you don't want to give it to some because they are Mexican. It may be the law but it is an immoral law.

We're Sinking Fast

We need to close the border between the U.S. and Mexico. Why do people not understand that the majority of these illegals are not coming here for a better life and to contribute to our society? They are coming here with guns and drugs and they are wanting handouts. My grandfathers fought for this country in WWII and I am thankful they are not here to see this mess. We have taken God out of schools and slowly but surely, out of the country. God has protected this country, but we are doomed if we turn our backs on him. We (myself included) are for the most part spoiled and lazy in this country. Many of us don't know what a hard day of manual work is like. No, Mexicans don't need to build the walls, the proud patriots of this country should!
