I think that it makes people more aware. As more and more are feeling the effect of illegal immigration within the work place, the effects on where their tax dollars are going - more and more are indeed getting more than a tad angry.
ICE needs to be at every one of these marches and start arresting these people - local police as well esp. if they do not have a permit and THEN call up ICE to verify that each person is here legally - then ENFORCE the IMMIGRATION LAWS! |

Yes it will have the same effect as last time. It just makes legal Americans mad.We arent scared of them marching or other wise, I get really pissed when I see the flag I fought for being disrespected by a bunch of people with their hands out. Go march in your own damn country. This is America and you are illegal.Go home and protest . My American flags will be waving at my home and on all my construction trucks and equipment. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND AMERICANS |

Didn't this happen last year too?
Illegal things are illegal for a reason. If there was a rally where a bunch of serial killers got together and proclaimed that they love serial killing and talked about who they killed, they'd be arrested. Therefore, illegal immigrants who get together and celebrate the fact that they live here illegally should be arrested. |

I'm not an American citizen, yet. I'm a Legal Resident and feel really bothered by the fact that the authorities keep tolerating this type of behavior. I'm all for freedom of speech and all, but the people going to the marches are just following what the "agitators" tell them to do. Instead of earning our sympathy they are creating more anti-immigrant sentiment. |

Yes.
Look at my profile date.
Illegal immigration wasn't a big deal to me until I learned how MANY there were after the first marches last year. That led to learning how huge their impacts are on schools in my area (LA). |

yes, I will be even more angry with bush after May 1st. |

Yes. I think the illegal ones marching need to be arrested and deported.
Change your own country instead of running away and trying to change ours. |

Yes. They always say first impressions are lasting impressions and I don't think there's anything the American citizen didn't "get" with the last march. There is nothing "new" to enlighten us with, and frankly....I'm tired of looking at angry faces and guys making obscene gestures making demands and racist hateful comments, telling me they are taking over this country. It's just going to throw fuel on the fire and frankly......make the situation worse. But hey.....they can knock their socks off. |

I really don't think it will have much of an effect in any way at all. I saw it on a news program on the Spanish channel just a couple days ago. What I found most interesting about it was that all of their signs were in Spanish. If they really wanted to get the attention of the majority of US citizens, all of their signs and all of their chants or slogans should be in English. Otherwise, most people aren't going to take them seriously. A big complaint from most people is the immigrants want everyone to conform to them instead of them trying to be part of this country. |

yes, it makes me mad when they burn our flag and demand to have rights they are not entitled to. it seems they have more rights then citizens do. |

Only if the citizens of the US let them. Ignoring them goes against the attention they seek. Getting upset about them is exactly what they want because they know someone has paid attention to them and their march. |

foreigners waving foreign flags demanding my tax $$? nah i love it...i hope all 30 million will be allowed to stay so we have no more middle class,a mexican grocery store on every corner, and a population of 400 mil. by 2050 |

Yes, and with each march, we get more angry. Each march is right there on coast to coast tv, it wakes people up each time, so keep on marching. |

Just round them up at the marches should`nt be hard to find them.Hopefully everyone takes note of the decline in school enrollments on that day so we see where our tax dollars are really going. They tried this last year and I believe It had no effect on me as I don`t rely on these folks for anything. Now if they would all stay out of the Emergency rooms and ambulances too. They close their stores as if that will bother me,can`t say I have need to go in there in the first place.
If they put this much effort into their own birthplaces imagine the possibilities? You all failed to prove a point last year and will again fail miserably. And no it makes me laugh not angry, its a joke.If they rest of the US would laugh at the schoolyard bullies they would run with tail between legs. |

I have a housing division and a trialer park around me,slap full of aliens, they don't do a damn thing to them, just let them come and go as they pls, And robbing and stealing. even the cops are talking to them, shaking hands.pat each other on the back, its stuipd... |

I'm angry. Actually, I try to STAY angry, as it allows for a more efficient use of emotions, as it were, OR emotion, as it is presently. The Mex-skins want everything that we Americans gladly (?) ...died for so that other Americans could die for ...other stuff. They've come over here and taken ALL the best lettuce picker jobs and most of those coveted Motel-6 housekeeper jobs. You'll see. Before long, they're gonna be DEMANDING outlandish stuff, like a decent wage, and insurance, and sanitary conditions, ...and breaks. Yesirree, I ..am..ANGRY! Their little "march" already has me fartin' jalapenos. We were forced to take "the other ones" after their little "marches" and "little"hissy-fits, but we don't have to take no Mex-skins. They've stuck their big ole noses in our lettuce business and I want their noses out, so that we Americans can get back to picking our own. |

Probably. Most americans are mad because these people are coming in and taking our depleting jobs. I understand they're filling a work need but then again we're going to wrong way and chasing down the immigrates when we should be going after the companies. |

I'm a US citizen, and I'm going to be marching with them.
Amnesty for immigrants! There is strength in solidarity.
EDIT - Wow. It's amazing how ignorant some of these responses are. But I really wanted to respond to the person who wrote that May 1st is Loyalty Day. While this is technically true, May 1st has historically been associated with INTERNATIONAL WORKERS' DAY. It's so messed up that we don't even get this day off in the US. LABOR BUILT THIS COUNTRY! |

Proud US and WORLD citizen here. I marched in solidarity with immigrants in New York City last May 1st. I support anyone who is willing to work hard to give their family a decent existence. Just because I happened to be born in the US doesn't make me any better than people born elsewhere who often risk their lives to get here and work their butts off to have a chance at a decent life. They are fleeing from desperate situations, believe me. |

No I'm a citizen & it hasn't made me angry at all after all we are in a free country and people can do whatever they want. On the other hand it makes me really angry to see women asking for abortion rights, and gay rights. But people asking for an immigration reform it doesn't bother me @ all. |

maybe, but its too late cuz the marches will happen either way! plus there r too many illegals for all of them to back down! one way or another many millions of illegal immigrants will stay! BTW the last marches weren't "little" if case u weren't watching! and another thing.. im a citizen born & raised! ;) |
|

Chasity

First it wont be a "little" march and second why should we get mad? They can voice their opinions we can then chose to agree or disagree. Personnaly I might march with em'. |
