Do you think there are too many immigrants in, and coming in to the UK?

This is a great question and you know something? We all probably feel like criminals for discussing it, don't we? I mean, we all want to get along with our ethnic friends but when the 'Britishness' of our country starts to fade, we quite naturally get concerned. The amazing thing about this is that we, as Brits, have no place in their countries and certainly would not get social benefits or food vouchers, accommodation help or whatever. This country needs to place constraints on immigrants and prioritise housing, jobs, welfare, health to the great British people as a principle. That way, we wouldn't feel second class. I feel that everyone has to earn their place on our society and not be able to simply claim it on an application form.

The U.K's problem has nothing to do with Blair, or the incorrect assumption that he's nothing but a Bush puppet.

The U.K's problem is that they have not only allowed millions of Muslims into their country, but they're allowing them to govern themselves under Sharia Law. There's going to be big trouble because they have a country growing within their country, and the growing country does not look kindly upon the one it's growing within.

The U.S. will eventually face this same problem.

I am sick and bored to answer another stupid question like this one, but I'll try... in a bit different way than usual.
Any proof of immigrants abusing your social welfare system, health service, council housing? What percentage of patients on the NHS waiting lists are immigrants? Are you able to show us ANY evidence of that?
I am the one which you, guys from the BNP-Nazi like brigade hate most at the moment - I am from Eastern Europe, namely Poland. In fact, this is Central Europe, but I know it is far too much to ask you to undesrtand the difference, regarding your limited education and intelligence. Guess what? I have decent job, according to my qualifications, I do not live in council house nor I get any sort of benefits.I do not want them, but apart from that my salary is too high for being eligible. I am paid the same money as my British colleagues. So...?

Variety is the spice of life, so i,d say let in the immigrants , they contribute to the economy and also justifiy the UK being a good example of vibrant multicultural society.

Yes and no. Sorry, but the main problem is integration, not immigration.

Hard as it is to believe, immigration has got harder. As a result, there is going to be problems for UK farmers to get strawberries picked. Why? Because there are too few immigrants here to work, and because UK nationals are not doing the work instead. (See the link)

The problem with some migrants and the descendents here is not that they are here, but that there are some who refuse to 'integrate.' You do not have to go out and get pi$$ed every Friday night to be 'integrated' but you do have to respect that if you are an immigrant, that you are part of a society that has chosen to welcome you here, and it is only right to try to become part of it, learn the language etc.

Otherwise, if you do not want to become part of this great nation, leave.

Look at where they're coming from, would you want to live there? They see that life is better where we are and that is an incentive for them to move. If they didn't think we had it 1,000,000 times better than they did, they'd either stay put or choose another relocation target.

I think you are being a complete idiot by saying Blair relaxed border controls. No other country migrates around the globe as much as we Brits. Maybe if we stopped stomping on other peoples countries in the name of "peacekeeper" they would not have to flee thier OWN countries. and judging by a lot of the responses imperialism still lives on. But yes I agree there are too many immigrants, too many problems now the borders have been relaxed and to be honest I can see the UK in a civil war unless something is done and done soon. We can only hope the next non-labour government will put right all the wrongs the labour party have created.

far too many here now and if the present trend continues i fear this country will erupt (tensions re immigrants and asylum seekers are near to breaking point (in many areas).
i for one feel that my way of life as a white english born christian is under threat and i do not expect any help from a government hell bent on practicing posivitive discrimination, keeping our borders wide open and ready to hand all control over to brussels

Tony Blair was not only a lap dog to America, he's been one to the E.U too they are the ones telling us what we can and cant do now we are a full member to the E.U, but unlike most other countries who just ignore what Brussels Say's our government just go along with it and we get taken for fools. The amount of immigrants coming into this country is far too great, that's why our public service's are in such a poor state, and us Brits are picking up the bill for it, as well as all the money paid into the EU, God our Government and leaders are such fools, but they are making fools of us too.

Immigration is positive but it has to be regulated and it apparently isn't regulated enough in this country. Foreigners wishing to live and work in this country should learn English. They should want to integrate. The ways of the adopted country should be respected. (And this goes for any country!) I was an expat for ten years and felt it only decent to learn and speak that's country's language and learn and adopt that country's customs.

The government and local authorities can't seem to cope with the sudden rise in numbers of immigrants. At the end of the day we are a small country and we don't offer enough support to our youth - but then that's another discussion - and shouldn't we begin with looking after the people already living here...better education, better childcare etc.?

There's no doubt that the number of immigrants being allowed into the country over the last ten years, is causing serious tensions and putting a heavy strain on local amenities, housing, health-care etc.

Politicians of all parties do not care what the people think. They will only act when we the people explode onto the streets and storm their citadel.

They're all fast asleep in parliament. They don't care. Huge fat pay cheques, which none of them earn plus massive expense accounts. My MP, a taxi drive by trade, is taking more than Â£200,000 a year in salary plus expenses. My guess is he's employing every member of his family he possibly can to sit around doodling and get paid for it.

Meanwhile, Rome burns.

No.! Finally time for England to face up and learn some culture. England does not have a culture and the sooner they realise that the better. Ireland,Scotland and Wales do but not England, other than cursed football,drunkeness, appalling food, dirtiness, foul language, racism, laziness and televison.
So, now there are cultural mixes which is good. The only ones with a problem are the english. Those without any culture, which is why incoming immigrants are resented. Time to get real and sort out your awful so called " way of life" ? Some task that is going to be ! Don't blame Blair, it is yourselves the english who are to blame.

Yes I do. Tony Blair should listen to the people of Britain about this however I think it is too late to do anything about it.
